WHY BOOK?

The absolute highlight are seven pool villas. Their lush green private gardens with a pool extend right to the riverbank. Guests can watch the hustle and bustle of the river from a deck chair while enjoying a glass of champagne. That's probably only possible here.

ROOMS & SUITES

The urban resort offers 101 generously proportioned suites and villas, all facing the river. Seven pool villas are located directly on the Chao Phraya, including the largest villa at 595 square meters, a Presidential Villa worthy of its name. But also fantastic are the Veranda Suites in the main building, which have leafy terraces with fine balcony furniture. There, guests can sit in their own Jacuzzi and enjoy the magnificent panorama of the river and city from an elevated position. All suites are rooms to feel good in. Large panoramic windows provide brightness. This is complemented by beautifully designed furniture, most of which is discreetly decorated in friendly pastel shades. Fine woods, fine leather and heavy fabrics have been used. The bathrooms are also a dream - they convince with grayish marble, free-standing designer bathtubs and first-class care products.

SERVICE & AMBIENCE

The first home in Thailand of the Singapore-based luxury hotel group Capella is a grand dame of the hospitality industry that has taken up residence on the east bank of the Chao Phraya. Arriving guests are escorted into the grand living room by the perfectly behaved staff. Over a welcome drink, formalities are taken care of and the hotel's special offerings are explained. These include a guided tour of the artworks in the hotel, a photo tour where you can have your picture taken perfectly by the staff, or courses where you can demonstrate your artistic talents. Nice, always at 5 pm you meet for Cin Cin in the bar and get to know other hotel guests.

CUISINE

The Capella's culinary flagship is the Cote by Mauro Colagreco restaurant. Chef Davide Garavaglia celebrates fine flavor cuisine, which he learned at Colagreco's three-star restaurant in Menton, and masterfully combines it with centuries-old traditions of Thai cuisine. His menu sequences are true taste explosions - and have already been awarded a Michelin star. Thai cuisine at its finest is offered by Phra Nakhorn. Light-flooded rooms or outdoor tables under trees and directly by the river provide an atmospheric setting.

In the noble Premium Spa, competent therapists do good for body and soul. In seven treatment rooms with natural light, they offer proven and innovative treatments. Exotic - massages with riceberry rice, seasame and black beans. Fitness activities every day. Sunrise welcome ceremonies, yoga or special workouts for weight loss are just some of the offerings.

LOCATION/SURROUNDING

The hotel is centrally located in one of the oldest quarters of Bangkok, embedded in a spacious area with parks and pools directly on the river. There is a regular boat transfer to the exclusive shopping and entertainment center ICON Siam on the opposite bank.

TIP FROM THE EDITORS

Now it's back - the popular seafood lunch on Sundays. Right on the riverbank, Phra Nakorn serves up delicacies such as lobster, oysters, king crab and shrimp. The chefs also prepare authentic Thai dishes from the Rattanakosin era. In addition, there are plenty of drinks and live music.
