Pure alpine bliss can be found in Northern Italy's Eggental all year round, but it is only in winter that it truly shines: As soon as the first snow falls in the heart of the Dolomites, coating the rugged mountain peaks and alpine meadows, the valley not far from the city of Bolzano becomes a paradise for skiers, snowboarders and gourmets alike. "On your skis, get set, go!" is the motto in the two ski areas Carezza Dolomites and Latemar in Obereggen – both of which are part of the enormous Dolomiti Superski ski area. Carezza is located directly below the Rosengarten and stretches from Karersee to Welschnofen; the many blue pistes make this quiet resort perfect for families and beginners.

At the foot of the Latemar in the Obereggen area, the pistes are far more challenging: Recently named the "world's best ski area in the category of 60 kilometers of slopes or less,: red and black pistes (including in the Latemar Sixpack), night skiing and tobogganing provide a special thrill. In addition, cross-country skiers and hikers can enjoy exploring the beautiful natural surroundings. The Val d'Ega is steeped in alpine tradition, and you can taste it: a number of huts, mountain snack bars and Michelin-starred restaurants invite you to enjoy culinary delights ranging from hearty mountain fare to exquisite gourmet cuisine. Don't miss the BEEF & SNOW special evengt in March 2025, where the focus is on the Eggental's finest prime cuts.
