South Tyrol is a true pearl at any time of the year. But especially in the autumn, when the trees turn golden and the sun's rays still warm you, it's simply gorgeous in Italy's northernmost region! Whether it's a hike in the Alps, a walk through the woods or a day at the lake: South Tyrol is beneficial for body, mind and soul.

Here are four activities you definitely don't want to miss this fall!

St. Magdalena in the Dolomites

A spectacular view of the Dolomites is offered by a small village called St. Magdalena. It is located on the edge of the Villnöss valley and is especially beautiful in autumn. Visitors can simply stroll through the area and enjoy the view, walk through the forest and breathe in the refreshing mountain air or venture out into the Alps.

Braies Lake

The small village of Braies feels like a fairy tale. Only the wild lake of the same name manages to make you look around even more fascinated. Because the colours of the water glisten turquoise, blue and green. You could stay here for hours and enjoy the warm autumn sun on your skin. By the way: according to legend, the Pragser Wildsee is said to guard the treasure of the savages...

Seiser Alm

What would South Tyrol be without an impressive mountain landscape! The Alpe di Siusi, for example, delights with its striking peaks, dreamy alpine meadows and a sea of forests, which are particularly impressive in autumn. Because as soon as the leaves change colour, it seems as if you are in a dream of gold!

Merano

If you want to experience something urban in addition to a spectacular natural spectacle, you should definitely check out Merano. The city in the South Tyrolean Alps is known for its relaxing spas and Art Nouveau buildings. Large parks and green promenades - of which there really are plenty in Merano - are the perfect retreat for a relaxing autumn day!
