Is the secret of a good cocktail out or does it still remain well-guarded? The opening of The Grid Bar in 2018 brings a mysterious speakeasy flair to Friesenstraße. Speakeasy refers to bars that are not really recognizable as such from the outside - a secret bar, in other words. From the outside, the guest is only admitted to the entrance, which is framed by bamboo plants and curtains, after pressing the bell. You take a seat in the actual bar area under a golden ceiling at the amber counter. If you take a few steps through the bar, you will reach the exclusive courtyard in the back. On cold days, the attached radiant heaters provide the right climate and every Friday and Saturday, as well as before holidays, selected DJs take over this task. Vinyl is still played here and the sound of funk, soul and hip-hop accompanies the evening.
