The Best Insider Tips for St. Moritz

In the midst of a dreamlike mountain scenery lies the luxurious alpine resort St. Moritz in the Swiss valley Engadin.

The epicenter of the rich and famous

This place is not just a destination, St. Moritz is a myth. Probably the most famous winter sports destination in the world, it not only had electric light as early as 1878 and Switzerland's first ski lift (1935), but was also always a glamorous stage for the international jet set, which celebrated legendary parties in Saint-Tropez in summer and played polo on the frozen lake in St. Moritz in winter. They knew each other, were a closed, exclusive circle, a world apart - at the center was the German-Swiss playboy and industrialist heir Gunter Sachs, who provided the paparazzi with plenty of material; the bon vivant brought stars and starlets to the Swiss mountains.
