These beaches are still real insider tips

Ready to relax on the beach in peace and quiet? On these five, rather unknown beaches, it's possible!

30 August 2021

August 30 is considered International Day of the Beach! The Americans have created this day to make tourists aware of how important it is not to leave beaches dirty.

In keeping with this, we have five beautiful beaches, which are still considered real insider tips.

67 Steps Beach on Long Island

Long Island is a popular weekend destination for New Yorkers. In the midst of picturesque nature and beautiful beaches you can enjoy a time out far away from the urban jungle. Especially in the south of the island, there are countless fine sandy beaches, which are, however, very well visited. Far less known are the beautiful beaches of the north. A real insider tip is the 67 Steps Beach in Greenport.

Tucked away at the end of a small cul-de-sac, you'll find the wooden staircase whose 67 steps lead to the small pebble beach and to which the beach owes its name. The water there is much calmer and warmer than the beaches to the south. And with a little luck, one even has the beach all to oneself. If you want to stay longer, you should check out the modern and stylish American Beech Hotel ...take a closer look.

Caladesi Island in Florida

Clearwater Beach in Florida has been named the most beautiful beach in the world several times. Of course, this attracts countless tourists. But very few know that Caladesi Island, in the north of the region, is a real insider tip! The fact alone that you can only get to the island by boat or kayak limits the possible number of people on Caladesi Island.

The island captivates with extensive beach sections, which you can enjoy mostly completely alone. The beach in the north of the island is particularly quiet. Recommendable is the Sirata Beach Resort on Long Island. It is located right on the ocean!

Eagle Beach on Aruba

If you're looking for that typical Caribbean flair, Aruba is the place to be! But in addition to the heavily frequented dreamy beaches, there are also some where you can enjoy your privacy. Eagle Beach is only 15 minutes away from Aruba's capital Oranjestad. It impresses visitors with pristine white sand, warm water and some shady spots.

Particularly relaxed is the Bucuti & Tara Beach , located directly at Eagle Beach. The romantic hotel is predominantly a destination for couples in love, who want to take time out or enjoy their honeymoon in the Caribbean.

Fulhadhoo Beach in the Maldives

Luxury, water villas and cocktails on the beach can be found almost everywhere in the Maldives. But not on Fulhadoo. Because the small island is inhabited almost exclusively by locals. Therefore the beautiful beach with finest sand and the crystal clear sea is absolutely untouched. Visitors can look forward to idyllic tranquility and spectacular nature.

This exceptional island is also perfect for snorkeling, especially the northeastern beach section. The underwater world is very diverse and easy to observe. Only 800 meters west of the island, on the south side of the reef, lies Coral Garden. A collection of unique corals that you definitely have to see at least once. Since there are only few tourists on the island, there are no big resorts there. Highly recommended is the romantic Village Hideaways & Spas.

Skardsvik beach in the west of Iceland

Even if Iceland may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of beaches, this country should not be underestimated. Because besides impressive glaciers, geysers and waterfalls, you can also admire fascinating coastal landscapes and beaches. Especially the small Skardsvik beach, in the very west of Iceland, is something very special. Because it is surrounded by a pitch-black rocky landscape, but surprises with golden sand.

However, wind- and weatherproof clothing is recommended. It can get windy and wet while watching the big waves. After the trip to Skardsvik beach, it is recommended to follow the road for a while and stop at the orange Svortuloft lighthouse. Götuhús Sea View Apartment is located just a few minutes from the beach.
