Few hotels can look back on almost 600 years of history, and even fewer still have their finger on the pulse of the times after all these years. The newly renovated "PACHMAIR 1453 apart resort" in Zillertal, now in its 30th generation of family management, knows how to skillfully master this balancing act between history and modernity. In this interview, Hotel Manager Johannes Geiger reveals what makes the alpine resort so special and what guests can expect when it reopens in May 2025.

What inspired the recent renovation of the "PACHMAIR"?
We can look back on a long history, which is both a responsibility and an incentive to develop our company in line with the times without losing its roots.
What does the new motto "NEW since 1453" say about the concept?
This means that we preserve our values - hospitality, alpine tradition and family warmth - while creating innovations that offer guests more freedom and comfort. In this way, the guest experience includes maximum flexibility on vacation.
What makes the "PACHMAIR" special?
We make it possible for guests to start their next adventure relaxed by offering the perfect combination of relaxation and activity. Our two wellness worlds "AQUAlpin" and "SPAlpin" stand for pure relaxation, with water on the one hand and saunas, treatments and everything else that goes with it on the other. So you can tailor your time out to suit your individual needs.
What can you expect on a culinary level?
True to the motto "GEHOBEN bodenständig", our guests can expect a special culinary experience that focuses on quality, regionality and flexibility. In our casual dining restaurant "ANNA'S STUBN", we offer a varied cuisine that focuses on fresh ingredients from local partners - and it's not just for hotel guests.
