Paris, mon amour: A weekend in the city of love

What could be better than spending time with the person you love? The best place to spend a classic holiday together is in the city of love.

29 October 2021

Paris has many names - but the metropolis is probably most famous under the guise of the city of love. Paris is an attitude towards life. And to experience that, you should share this special feeling with a special person! Which beautiful places and sights make the trip unforgettable and what you can experience on a weekend in Paris, you'll read here.

Romantic walks

Paris is always worth a visit and presents itself in a unique charm at any time of the year. In autumn, the numerous gardens, such as the princely Jardin de Luxembourg or the Musée Rodin, turn a fiery red and invite you to take a stroll. A promise of love can be found at the Mur je t'aime: on 40 square metres, the three magic words are written in 250 languages - it is not for nothing that it is called the "I love you wall" in German. A highlight and a nice souvenir photo value for all lovers.

Sights for an exciting time for two

How about an exhibition at the Louvre? Or just imagine sitting on the banks of the Seine with a good bottle of red wine and a blanket overlooking the Eiffel Tower, which will start to glow for you after sunset. If you prefer a classic sight-seeing tour, you will be captivated by the impressive boulevards, the unique art and culture and the historic city centre. The latter is especially beautiful at nightfall, when the city is wrapped in a thousand lights that illuminate the buildings in gold. A scenery like from the twenties.

The romance of French cuisine

Authentic and typical French food is best eaten outside the centre, far away from the sight-seeing hotspots. Romantic cafés and sweet bistros invite you to linger and enjoy. If you don't want to have a big dinner, you should plan a visit to one of the typical cafés for a real French breakfast: Whether it's in a tiny café on Montmartre for café au lait and croissant or in the student district Marais to soak up the atmosphere - there's plenty of time for romantic hours in a dreamlike setting, even on a weekend!
