Are these the 5 trendiest design hotels in Ibiza?

Luxurious and quite chic, these five design hotels in Ibiza top our list of the Balearic island's trendiest hotels for summer 2022.

31 March 2022

Woah: We're going to Ibiza! And we'd love to, because the Balearic island is not only still the absolute party hotspot in the Mediterranean, it also convinces nature and sports lovers with its wildly beautiful pine groves, light sandy beaches and imposing cliffs.

If you spend your days in nature or dance the nights away, you need a retreat that has as much flair as Ibiza itself. These five design hotels top our list of the trendiest places to stay.

Sir Joan Hotel

A jewel not to be missed in the crown of Ibiza's finest design hotels is the Sir Joan Hotel. Designed by the award-winning international design studio Baranowitz & Kronenberg, it's the ideal hideaway for digital nomads and all those who yearn for an exclusive atmosphere à la Members Club . From the cabana-lined outdoor pool to the interior of Sir Joan, here Ibiza's maritime bohemian flair is interpreted in a particularly stylish way.

Highlight:

Off to the cabin: The stripped wooden floors of the rooms and suites come from yachts - and thus make for unique sights and appearances. All around, the waves are rising, at least visually: Because as soon as the sunlight falls on the highly polished stainless steel wall panels, they move undulating. The premises at Sir Joan have been completed with modern, high-contrast interiors and hand-picked works of art.

On Ibiza's west coast, in the middle of an idyllic pine grove and overlooking the cliffs, lies the 7Pines Resort, which, as part of the Destination by Hyatt collection, promises luxury vacations with style. The whitewashed houses combine Ibizan flair with modern ethno chic; they have been designed with care, nothing is out of place here. The resort does not fall into the category of detached luxury: guests will find spacious resting places in 185 spacious suites and three luxurious private villas, where comfort is just as important as style.

For dinner, you'll find yourself at The View, where not only the ocean view, but also the great dishes live up to the name of the clifftop restaurant. A sight for gods and gourmets! Then it's on to the clifftop terrace of the Cone Club, with 270-degree panoramic views of the blue expanses and iconic Virgina Vald pop-up store. Here, sip cava sangria with fresh fruit and relax as the setting sun bathes the sky in rich hues.

Highlight:

The resort on the coast of Ibiza scores with its 1,500-square-meter Pure Seven Spa. Starting in the 2022 season, three new holistic two-day wellness programs invite guests to devote themselves entirely to their own bodies and their needs. Enciting!

The Standard Ibiza

Minimalist and pretty cool is the new The Standard Ibiza, the place to stay for party seekers and trendsetters. © The Standard

Minimalist-simple on the outside, minimalist-chic on the inside: The Standard, which only reopened in spring 2022, is already considered the perfect adults-only retreat in Ibiza's lively island capital. The hotel chain's second European address captivates with select, modern decor, urban flair, and a certain coolness. On the roof terrace with pool one is invited to all-nighters: The Up! lives up to Ibiza's reputation as a party island in a rather chic way. If you want to keep it a little quieter, head to the first floor beforehand for colorful grilled branzino, tasty paellas and sophisticated cocktails at Jara, the hotel's hip brasserie. Top!

Those traveling with a group of friends or family will settle into the Casa Privada for the duration of their vacation. This five-story private residence is located just a few meters from The Standard and, as a luxurious private retreat, promises to make the stay extra special.

Hacienda Na Xamena Ibiza

At a time when Ibiza was still an idyllic, tranquil island, architect Daniel Lipszyc built Hacienda Na Xamena amid wild pine groves in San Miguel. Eventually, son Alvar took over the house and transformed it into a charming luxury resort. For over two decades, Na Xamena was thus considered the first and only five-star luxury address on Ibiza. Although the Hacienda has since had competition, it is impossible to imagine the Balearic island without the hideaway on the list of the most stylish hotels.

Na Xamena, perched on a 180-meter cliff, presents itself in the style of a whitewashed finca with charming courtyards and galleries lined with Ibizan flora. Wandering past the palm trees into the interior, you'll land in bright, comfortable rooms and suites. Here, minimalist island style and international-modern influences shake hands. For holistic relaxation, the hotel has teamed up with La Posidonia: The extensive spa area scores points with its whirlpool terraces overlooking Ibiza's wild cliffs, among other things.

Highlight:

Inspired by the local flora, Hacienda offers seasonal, sustainable cuisine at The Edén Restaurant. Much of the food served here comes from the restaurant's own garden. The Edén also boasts an elegant atmosphere - an evening of sunset and haute cuisine is a must on any foodie bucket list!

Laidback Luxury Resort OKU Ibiza

OKU Ibiza: Neues fünf-Sterne-Retreat mit Barefoot-Luxus, Entspannung und Revitalisierung

Although the OKU only opened its doors in May last year, the Laidback Luxury Resort can already be counted among Ibiza's top addresses in terms of design without much fuss. The house on Cala Gracio Bay, with its dark wood, sand-colored, elegant interior, and atmosphere that is by no means described as "laid-back" for nothing, is suitable for sun-seekers as well as those seeking relaxation.

The OKU not only wants to convince with its exterior, one also strives to bring the inner life of the guests into a healthy balance. Thus, expressive design is on a par with body-mind-and-soul concerns. This spiritual Japanese concept is updated, for example, via restorative yoga sessions and a comprehensive spa and wellness offering in which traditional and modern methods come together.

Highlight:

You'll feel like a bohemian in the OKU's cozy rooms and suites. Soft earth tones and natural fabrics are complemented by carefully selected accessories, and in the Swim Up Room you dive into the private patio pool right outside the room doors. A refreshing stay is guaranteed.
