The Langham, London boasts of being the first hotel in the world to have High Tea on the menu of its Palm Court restaurant when it opened in 1865, helping the custom to take off. In addition to afternoon tea, Palm Court serves light meals throughout the day and bubbles from an extensive champagne menu in the evening. Traditional British pub culture is cultivated at The Wigmore - without the smell of stale beer, of course. Drinks and pub snacks of a high standard treat guests. Masala spiced Scotch Eggs, Stovetop Cheese Toasties and Dahl Relish, for example. The Artesian, named after the 100-metre-deep well beneath the hotel, has won the "World's Best Bar" award.
