Trend island Mykonos: the best tips for the legendary party island

Gleaming white houses and the teal blue sea: Mykonos embodies the epitome of Greek lifestyle.

5 July 2021

From a relaxed beach holiday at Agios Sostis in the north of the island to the beach party of a lifetime at "Scorpios": Mykonos knows how to combine superlatives on the small island. Called the "new Ibiza" by stars and starlets, travellers often meet international celebrities such as Alessandra Ambrosio or Lindsay Lohan here ... But Mykonos doesn't only know how to score with stars and starlets, the culinary and hotel industry also leave nothing to be desired. We have collected the best insider tips for you!

Best Beach Club

A stay on Mykonos is not complete without partying at Scorpios. The hip beach club combines the Ibiza feeling from the noughties with a modern approach and relaxed atmosphere. During the day you can chill out on sunbeds and enjoy excellent Mediterranean and oriental dishes. In the evening, the world's best DJs play and create a bombastic atmosphere. The unique concept and the perfect location crown the "Scorpios" as the best beach club in Europe. Instead of flashy colours, the club relies on natural tones and accents made of high-quality materials and thus nestles discreetly into the surroundings without losing its extraordinary flair.

Best restaurants

Kiki's Tavern

Kalí órexi! If you want to get a much sought-after table at "Kiki's Tavern" in the north of the island, you are advised to arrive early. But the wait is rewarded with excellent food straight from the grill. Guests can expect simple, no-frills cuisine, which cannot be trumped in terms of moments of pleasure. If you have to wait longer, you can cool off in the bay below the taverna.

Interni

Designer piece! Snow-white from the outside, hip interior, designed by Paola Navone - the atmosphere in the "Interni" inspires. The dishes are Mediterranean with international influences. The menu adapts seasonally to the regional products. The bar serves classic cocktails with a modern twist, as well as the restaurant's own creations. The inner courtyard is a great place to sit, even on windy days.

Spilia

Barefoot in the first row! Beautifully located directly on the water and embedded in a cave, the "Spilia" trumps with a perfect location. This is also reflected in the price. The portions are rather small, but testify to the excellent cuisine of the island. The fish is fresh on the plate - lobster and mussels wait in a natural pool and are partly prepared directly in front of the guests.
