"Art for Rangers": the perfect Valentine's Day gift for nature lovers

Exclusive original prints from the private art collection of award-winning filmmaker Beverly Joubert

10 February 2020

The Valentine's Day is getting closer - if you want to surprise your loved ones with a very special gift and do something good at the same time, you should take a closer look at the project "Art for Rangers" by the two award-winning filmmakers, conservationists and National Geographic explorers Beverly and Dereck Joubert.

The couple's charity initiative provides exclusive access to signed prints from Beverly Joubert's private art collection. In doing so, the couple is working to stop the increasing poaching during the Corona pandemic. Proceeds will then go to Project Ranger - a passionate initiative launched by the duo's charity, the Great Plains Foundation.

The Ranger Project

To date, Project Ranger has funded over 200 rangers in 7 countries who are on the front lines of preventing poaching. This is because the problem of poaching is unfortunately widespread in Africa. Not even tourism deters most poachers in African landscapes. Currently, there is also a lack of all tourism revenues that could finance the so-called anti-poaching activities.

Project Ranger funds rangers to try to stop the prevalent poaching.

"Project Ranger is an initiative Dereck and I started to provide critical funding to save local rangers' jobs and stop increased poaching during COVID. I also wanted to give something in return for everyone's support as a reminder that we can only implement conservation in isolation with collaboration," says Beverly Joubert, co-founder of Great Plains.
