Filling the resort with life

After the last few months, the team at Gradonna Mountain Resort with 42 chalets in Kals am Großglockner is looking forward to welcoming guests again. "We were always in the starting blocks the last months to do what we do best: Being hosts and hostesses. Now it's almost time and we are looking forward to welcoming guests back and to the resort filling up with life again," says hotel director Thomas Krobath. On a break at the Gradonna, holidaymakers enjoy the beauty of nature surrounded by 266 three-thousand-metre peaks.

Ecological "holidays" in nature

Guests travel comfortably by train or bus to Lienz, Mittersill or Matrei-Huben. From there, they travel to the Gradonna Resort at an altitude of 1,350 metres in an environmentally friendly hybrid vehicle. After checking in, you can relax in harmony with nature. Smart energy supply, regionality, paired with an architecture close to nature characterize the philosophy of the lifestyle resort.

And the location is also unique: at the foot of the Großglockner and at the entrance to the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Gradonna is perfectly situated for nature and hiking lovers - over 250 kilometres of hiking trails start directly in front of the hotel. A special challenge is the Königstour, which leads up from Kals to the Großglockner in two days. The free summer summit ticket allows you to use the surrounding partner mountain railways.

Power place: Forest

Those who seek their adventure in tranquillity will find it with meditation, yoga and the quiet spots to breathe deeply. New: Hidden in the forest around the resort are the special power spots with the sounding names "Aussicht" (view), "Stille" (silence) and "zum Nachdenken" (to reflect). Additional relaxation is offered by the wellness, bathing and sauna area. Here also the own, vegan and refillable natural cosmetics line MAGDALENA'S made in Tyrol provides deep relaxation. In keeping with the wisdom that "herbs help where they grow", the Gradonna wellness team has been relying exclusively on regional products from Tyrol for beauty treatments since summer 2021.

Culinary delights from Michael Karl and his team include delicious Tyrolean specialities with a Mediterranean influence for hotel and châlet guests. Those who prefer to cook for themselves at the Châlet will find everything they need in the resort's own delicatessen: honestly produced food from Tyrolean farmers and producers - also ideal to take along on hikes.
