Relaxing hours with a view of the Bosphorus: the new spa at Six Senses Istanbul

Those staying at the Six Senses Spa Kocataş Mansions can look forward to another highlight: the hotel awaits guests with a new spa.

15 November 2021

Already since its opening at the end of 2019, Six Senses Spa Kocataş Mansions in Istanbul welcomes its guests with great service, special style, unique ambience and wonderful views of the legendary Bosphorus. Recently, guests can look forward to another highlight: above the resort, a three-storey spa has been built in an environmentally friendly way, using natural materials from the surrounding area and covering around 1,500 square metres. The spa is located in a restored 100-year-old stone house that beautifully blends into the natural greenery. Some artifacts from Ottoman palace collections were also used as a tribute to the city's past.

Wellness oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city

The spacious wellness oasis offers guests five treatment rooms, three hammams, two steam baths, two saunas, an extensive relaxation area as well as a boutique and an anti-aging center. If that weren't enough, it also features a Pilates studio, a nail bar and an Alchemy Bar. Travellers can enjoy locally inspired, multi-faceted treatments such as massages, facials and hair, body and beauty treatments at this relaxation temple. Here, the spa uses French skincare brand Biologique Recherche and Subtle Energies for Ayurvedic aromatherapy rituals.

One of the biggest highlights of the new spa is undoubtedly the Turkish Hammam. This unique experience is performed by local hammam experts and has an invigorating and rejuvenating effect on spa guests. The interior of the hammam is also unique, featuring a spacious lounge and a decorative glass wall through which daylight streams in, giving guests a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus.

Design inspired by local culture

The design of the treatment rooms is inspired by the traditional culture of the country. For example, inspired by the Blue Mosque, the walls of the treatment rooms feature blue tiles to celebrate Turkish culture. Red linear details give the walls a natural, authentic and smooth finish.

The Six Senses Kocataş Mansions marks a new milestone for the brand as it expertly blends the Six Senses ethos of sustainability, wellness and local sensitivity to Turkish heritage - down to the smallest detail. Even the spa team's uniforms are made from 100 percent sustainable materials. For this, the resort has teamed up with local designer Ezra Tuba, who champions sustainable and ethical fashion in Turkey.

After months of anticipation, we have finally opened our doors and completed the resort's identity. Our passionate team will go all out to create unique #OutOfTheOrdinary guest experiences and immersive wellness programs and retreats." Guests can also look forward to more highlights in the future, with the addition of an infinity pool overlooking the Bosphorus, a bar serving refreshing juices, and a gym to be added in spring 2022.
