Croatia inoculates itself for the summer

This should no longer stand in the way of summer tourism

3 May 2021

Summer is getting closer and closer and with it the hope for a change and time out by the sea. But for this to be possible, the situation surrounding the pandemic must calm down even further. The vaccinations are progressing everywhere and also Croatia already launched some initiatives to ensure summer tourism. One of them: the country vaccinates employees who work in tourism.

Vaccination coverage until summer 2021

The summer season is already in the starting blocks, but still somewhat uncertain. Because we do not yet know how the Corona situation has developed by then. But in order to take a step towards "safety", Croatia has started to vaccinate tourism employees. Dubrovnik and Istria made the start to immunize all those who have contact with future holiday guests. The goal of the vaccination campaign is to vaccinate all employees in the recently battered industry by the summer.

Initiatives to simplify holidays in Croatia

In addition, the initiative "Croatian Islands - COVID free zone" should ensure that holidaymakers feel particularly safe. Croatian islands on this list are among those with a particularly low incidence. In addition, there will be a green passport, as well as an expansion of the "Safe Stay in Croatia" program. This should provide a simple overview of the current corona situation in the respective regions of Croatia.

The "Safe Stay in Croatia" seal is already carried by 12,000 properties throughout Croatia. More than 200 hotels and campsites have also announced that they are also interested in the Swiss safety certificate "SGS".
