Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, as its name suggests, is a Monegasque company specializing in tourism, leisure, and entertainment. Founded in 1863 by François Blanc, it has played a key role in making the Principality of Monaco an increasingly attractive travel destination. In addition to operating renowned luxury hotels in Monaco, the company also manages casinos, restaurants, and luxurious spas. Now, the company is venturing beyond Monaco into neighboring France. An ambitious hotel project is set to take shape in the world-famous ski resort of Courchevel 1850. This marks the debut of the new international brand, Monte-Carlo One - Hotels & Residences.

The "One" in the name of the new brand symbolizes a connection between S.B.M.'s heritage and its future. It represents a brand that constantly strives for excellence, bringing to life unique visions of ultra-luxury, hospitality, gastronomy, and exclusivity.
Art de Vivre in Monte Carlo style
The new hotel by the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer is set to open during the winter season of 2026/2027. Rather than a new construction, it will involve an extensive transformation of the former Palace de Neiges, located in the heart of the Jardin Alpin. Once the internationally renowned architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron completes the redesign, guests can look forward to a harmonious blend of design and top-tier environmental standards. At the same time, the new brand will bring the iconic Monegasque art de vivre beyond its borders.

“With the launch of Monte-Carlo One - Hotels & Residences, we demonstrate our commitment to entering new markets by offering experiences and excellence that are characteristic of Monte-Carlo,” said Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. “This brand will embody the values developed by our group to meet the expectations of an increasingly discerning international clientele.” Valeri even sees Courchevel as the alpine counterpart to the Principality, particularly due to its high-profile sporting events.

The excitement is shared on the political side as well. The mayor of the luxury ski resort, Jean-Yves Pachod, expressed hope that the collaboration would further strengthen Courchevel's position as an international travel destination. He also welcomed the company group's commitment to sustainable and responsible luxury. Pachod is convinced: "This new prestigious hotel development will enhance the exceptional offerings of our region, especially in light of the 2030 Olympic Winter Games."
