Orient Express launches "La Dolce Vita" through Italy

Nostalgic return of luxury on rails with the new Orient Express La Dolce Vita train traveling through Italy.

25 December 2021

For more than 150 years, the name Orient Express has stood for luxury and elegance on rails. In 2023, glamour is to be brought to Italy. Under the motto "La Dolce Vita", six trains will travel through a total of 14 regions of Italy as part of the Orient Express La Dolce Vita. Guests will thus be able to discover the most beautiful sides of the country on a wide variety of routes while enjoying the trains' customary 5-star service. The unique travel experience will also include a stopover in Rome at the first Orient Express Hotel, Minerva, which is scheduled to open in 2024.

The project is being realised together with the hotel brand Accor. In total, travellers will be able to cover 16,000 kilometres of rail - 7,000 of which will not be operated electronically. The routes run from the Alps to the beaches of southern Italy and connect Rome with Paris, Istanbul and Split.

The interior of the two twelve deluxe cabins, 18 suites and the Honor Suite has a splendid 1960s and 1970s flair with contemporary influences. Of course, Italy also plays an important role in the restaurant: award-winning Italian wines and exclusive haute cuisine bring the Italian dolce vita feeling to life.

Magnificent luxury awaits on the Orient Express trains. The "La Dolce Vita" project with Accor is already making people sit up and take notice. ©Accor
