Qatar Airways voted "Airline of the Year" for the sixth time

The airline can be happy about the Oscar of the aviation industry!

Qatar Airways was named "Airline of the Year" for the sixth time by the international aviation rating organization Skytrax. In addition, the Airline other awards in recognition of innovation, excellence and perseverance during the pandemic, as well as strong commitment to passengers in difficult times. 

The Oscar of the aviation industry

Known as the Oscars of the aviation industry, the 2021 Skytrax awards cover the period from September 2019 to July 2021, honoring Qatar Airways' perseverance and flexibility in particular. This is because the company has not only excelled in normal times, but has also maintained flight operations in the most difficult times and provided a lifeline to its customers around the world.

In addition, the airline also received recognition for its luxurious Al Mourjan Lounge, a calming oasis for travelers, which was voted the best business class airline lounge in the world. The airline's business class seat was also voted the best in the world for the fifth year in a row.

The best airline in the Middle East

The continuous development of the in-flight food offering was also acknowledged. Qatar Airways also received the award for the world's best inflight business class catering - a fitting tribute to the continuous improvement of its food and beverage offerings.

Finally, the airline was also named the best airline in the Middle East, underscoring passengers' preference for Qatar Airways in the region.

Committed - even during the pandemic

Qatar Airways has placed an even greater emphasis on the passenger experience and hygiene standards during the pandemic to improve service levels and make travellers feel safer. For example, they have introduced UV cleaning between flights, a flexible rebooking option and touchless in-flight entertainment technology.
