On an area of 500 square meters, the "Traditional Luxury Parkhotel Graz" a new innovative bar concept, a new coffee house as well as a veranda overlooking the rose garden, which has also been redesigned.

In the "Traditional Luxury Parkhotel Graz" hardly a stone remains on the other, the current Lockdown uses hotel boss Philipp Florian now for a multi-million dollar RebuildThe ground floor of the 4-star superior hotel will feature an innovative bar concept based on an international model with a veranda that will connect the lobby with the historic rose garden in the inner courtyard. The rose garden itself will also be completely redesigned and made weatherproof with a partial roof. In addition, there will be a new coffee house area. One million euros are being invested, and the conversion is due to be completed in April.

"Our hotel looks back on a 450-year history, and as a hotelier family and employer of around 50 employees, we have learned that only looking forward is worthwhile. That is why we are convinced that this investment is the right one, especially now in difficult times," says Philipp Florian, whose 68-room house is one of Austria's hotel legends. 

yearning for encounters

Since the start of the lockdown in November, the "Traditional Luxury Parkhotel Graz" has received hundreds of enquiries as to when things will finally get going again. "People have a longing for encounters and it is exactly this longing that we want to satisfy with the renovation," says Philipp Florian. The majority of the entrance area is now being redesigned on an area of 500 square metres: The new hotel bar will be implemented with an international concept. There will be a total of 50 seats, which will be used for coffee house operations during the day.

In future, not only guests from all over the world will be able to enjoy innovative bar culture here, but above all the people of Graz. The heart of the renovation is the large opening from the lobby into the inner courtyard of the Parkhotel. Florian: "Here, an extension will create a kind of veranda that will merge the gastronomic interior with the rose garden in the courtyard. The rose garden will also be redesigned, but its soul will of course be preserved. The partial roofing will be allowed to ensure that our guests can continue to stay in the beautiful garden even during rain interruptions."

Fifteen Styrian companies are involved in the conversion, so the investment will also be a significant driver for the regional economy. Florian: "Of course, we are also taking a risk with our plans. But we are convinced that after Corona, Graz will once again develop a strong tourist appeal. Actively helping to shape the attractiveness of the city, also with our Parkhotel, is ultimately a responsibility that we take on out of conviction."

The heart of Graz

The Parkhotel Graz is located in the city centre opposite the beautiful city park and with a direct view of the famous Graz Schlossberg and the clock tower - the city's landmark. The heart of the hotel are the 68 historic rooms in six different categories with the most modern standards and the latest technology. A highlight is also the newly designed spa area with sauna, indoor pool and fitness room.

A culinary anchor point for both hotel guests and locals is the "Florian" restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. For decades, the cuisine has been a guarantee for Austrian classics from Tafelspitz to Wienerschnitzel of veal. From spring onwards, you can sit idyllically in the rose garden, one of the most beautiful and romantic addresses in the city of Graz, and not just for hotel guests.
