Reopening of the Shang Palace at Shangri-La Paris

The only starred Chinese restaurant in France is once again offering first-class gourmet delights!

17 September 2021

Since September 1, Shang Palace at Shangri-La in Paris has finally reopened. With the reopening of the only Chinese star restaurant in France, a decision between the two cultures has become superfluous. Because there, guests can not only enjoy Chinese delicacies, but also admire the Parisian landmark, the Eiffel Tower.

Shang Palace: The only starred Chinese restaurant in France

From now on, Shangri-La Paris offers its guests first-class gourmet pleasure again. Chef Samuel Lee is once again conjuring up masterful dishes at Shang Palace, the only Chinese restaurant in France with a Michelin star, which will ensure unforgettable moments. Besides, gourmets enjoy an incredible view of Paris and the famous Eiffel Tower.

The Bar Botaniste and the restaurant La Bahinia have also been offering newly designed experiences since the first week of September, including a saber ritual and tea ceremony. The luxury hotel opposite the Eiffel Tower skilfully combines French savoir-vivre with Asian hospitality in its culinary offerings.

Cantonese dishes for gourmets

In the hotel's own restaurant Shang Palace, Hong Kong chef Samuel Lee and his team create Cantonese dishes at the highest level. The prestigious Michelin star has adorned the culinary heart of the luxury hotel since 2012, and it is the only Chinese restaurant in the entire country to enjoy this coveted distinction.

The menu includes both traditional specialties and original interpretations. Gourmets should especially try the beggar's chicken roasted in lotus leaves, which the kitchen team prepares on request according to a southern Chinese legend. From now on, the exclusive restaurant will again serve lunch and dinner on Thursdays to Mondays. The lunch menu starts at a price of 58 euros, while dinner can be booked for a price starting at 138 euros.

Sabre art in the Bar Botaniste

In addition to Asian culture, guests also experience French traditions. The hotel's own Bar Botaniste, for example, celebrates the sabering of champagne every evening. As the perfectly formed heading of the champagne bottle by means of a sabre goes back to Napoleon, the hotel pays homage to the history of its house in this way.

The Shangri-La Paris

Shangri-La Paris is located in the posh 16th district of Paris, opposite the Eiffel Tower on the banks of the Seine, high on the Chaillot hill. Nestled between the Place des Etats-Unis, the Place d'Iéna and the iconic Trocadéro. The former palace of Prince Roland Bonaparte welcomes its guests in 100 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar and four banquet and reception halls with a warm and authentic atmosphere that combine the best of two cultures: Asia's fine art of hospitality and France's savoir vivre. Residing in the former imperial stables of the Prince is the luxurious CHI, The Spa with a 17-metre pool, a fitness centre with private trainers and elegant treatment rooms.
