5 reasons for a holiday in late autumn

Booking your holiday outside the classic peak summer travel season can have some advantages. Read here why a trip in late autumn is worthwhile.

27 October 2021

As autumn draws to a close and it starts to get cold and uncomfortable outside, it's not just the perfect time to snuggle up at home. Late autumn is also the perfect time to travel for a variety of reasons. We show you the advantages of a Late autumn holiday can bring.

1. mediterranean holiday without masses of tourists

While the beaches of the typical holiday destinations on the Mediterranean, such as the Costa Brava, the Amalfi Coast or the Greek islands are crowded from the beginning of June to the end of September and the hotels in these areas are well booked, travelers will find peace and quiet in late autumn and significantly less crowds at the bathing areas, in restaurants and in recreational facilities. Nevertheless, it is still wonderful to stay at temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees and only a few rainy days are to be expected. So if you don't want to travel far and are looking for relaxation in a quiet atmosphere, a Mediterranean holiday outside the high season is a good idea.

2. peak season for long-distance travel

While winter is gradually setting in here, spring or summer is beginning on the other side of the world. Especially those who decide to travel to a tropical country should pay attention to the travel time, otherwise the holiday might literally fall through due to the rainy season, also known as monsoon season. From November onwards, destinations such as Australia and New Zealand or Thailand, the Philippines or Mexico are particularly attractive due to the dry season. 3. enjoy perfect wellness weather

Let's be honest: relaxing in the heated pool, watching the steaming water in the cold air and snuggling up comfortably in your bathrobe in the relaxation area with a book sounds much more pleasant when it's a bit colder outside. After all, sauna and bright sunshine just don't go together that well. It's no coincidence that late autumn is also the peak season for wellness holidays. Especially in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, there are many wellness resorts that offer a wide range of treatments, spacious pool areas and a high standard of service. With the large number of wellness oases, those seeking relaxation are also well distributed and the fear of booking a crowded wellness hotel usually turns out to be completely unfounded.

3. capture the autumn atmosphere in the cities

For all those who do not particularly appreciate bathing or wellness holidays, city trips offer a good opportunity to take a break from home. For a city trip, autumn is particularly suitable, because it is no longer so hot and most sights can be visited even in bad weather. In addition, city travelers can enjoy the beautiful play of colors of nature in autumn, which turns many a historic building into a picturesque backdrop transformed.

5. no holiday overlaps with colleagues

Anyone who works in a smaller company knows the problem: you want to take a vacation, but your colleague has already claimed the same period for himself - and someone has to hold the fort, after all. With a vacation in late autumn you avoid this conflict, because most vacations fall classically in the holiday season - in summer.
