Corona blues adé: Finally holidays again

Social contacts, cultural events and long-distance travel are just some of the things we can finally fully enjoy again. You can read about the experiences that now await us here.

25 October 2021

Autumn is the perfect time to enjoy one last trip before the ski and winter season. Because the lockdown , the associated contact restrictions and limitations on leisure activities have shown how much holidays mean to us and how much time away from our own four walls offers peace and relaxation. We have summarised the experiences that travellers can now enjoy again and should definitely not miss in autumn in our following four tips.

1. short time out in Austria

If a trip abroad still seems too risky, Austria's many wellness hotels are the perfect place for you. Whether it's a warming bath in the whirlpool, a hot sauna infusion, a soothing hot stone massage or cosmetic treatments with high-quality products - relaxation is guaranteed in the wellness oases. After all, where better to relax than in a sauna with a panoramic view of the peaks of the surrounding mountains? With the relaxation packages of the wellness hotels, travellers experience a relaxing short trip where no wish remains unfulfilled.

2. city trip in catalan style

Sightseeing, shopping and cultural traditions can be ideally combined on a city break, making for unforgettable experiences in autumn. With outstanding architecture, delicious Catalan food and the ideal shopping experience, Barcelona is a classic city break destination. Whether enjoying the view of the Sagrada Familia over a coffee or taking a leisurely stroll through the ornate and colourfully decorated Park Güell, sightseeing fans are spoilt for choice. Shopping lovers will enjoy the five-kilometre-long shopping mile with international brands and small boutiques and marvel at the latest fashion trends.

3. Pleasure Trip in Bella Italia

Whether it's spaghetti carbonara in Rome or risotto alla Milanese in Milan - trying regional specialities is part of travelling. Italy in particular offers delicious local specialities alongside well-known dishes that create unforgettable culinary memories. October is the classic harvest season, also in South Tyrol. Here, locals and guests can enjoy the so-called "Törggelen" and harvest products such as wine and chestnuts.

4. wanderlust: sun and sea in the Indian Ocean

When the temperatures drop, travelers long for sun, beach and sea. Hot temperatures and bathing weather are mainly experienced by holidaymakers outside Europe in autumn. With increasing ease on travel restrictions, more and more long-haul destinations such as the Maldives are enjoying renewed popularity, according to weg.de. The island paradise recorded a 47 percent increase in bookings at the beginning of October compared to the previous week. For many travellers the island state in the Indian ocean is the perfect vacation place for the cooler season. With dreamy sandy beaches and turquoise blue seas, it's a great place to relax under palm trees in warm weather.
