The desire to travel is increasing day by day. Many travel lovers already inform themselves diligently, where the long-awaited next beach holiday or city trip should go. But why go on exhausting web research, when you can also be inspired by your new Favorite show can be inspired? A survey of the Holiday Pirates on new habits during time at home has revealed that 59 percent of respondents are increasingly interested in series and Movies and the subscription to a streaming platform.

So here are seven current series highlights to tide you over with wanderlust.

1st Emily in Paris - Culture Shock in the French Capital

The young American Emily Cooper moves to Paris for a new job. She is supposed to help a marketing company understand the American perspective on life and consumption. Her start in the French capital is difficult at first, partly due to her lack of French. Every day, Emily encounters new challenges in her work and love life as she tries to immerse herself in the culture of France. In "Emily in Paris", the city on the Seine with its romantic flair really tempts her to go on a city trip. On her exploration of Paris, Emily leads viewers past small cafés through the streets and to her favorite meeting place in the Jardin du Palais Royal - of course, the Eiffel Tower is not to be missed.

2 Pretend It's a City - Declaration of Love to New York City

Writer Fran Lebowitz and director Martin Scorsese guide us through the metropolis with style and wit in the documentary series "Pretend It's a City". A personal story about the city of New York, as Fran Lebowitz used to know it and which she often does not recognize today. Through conversations and street scenes, the hit series shows what life is like in this very special metropolis. Fran Lebowitz's New York, with its insider's view, literally seduces you to take a city trip to New York. Past famous sights such as Times Square, the narrative also takes us along Library Walk, to the Hess Triangle in Greenwich Village and to Barthman's Sidewalk Clock.

3. the crown - city trip to royal London

The life of the British Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family from 1947 to the turn of the millennium is thematized in "The Crown". The Queen and her family face new turbulences and challenges of a private and political nature in each season. The popular Netflix series has been inspiring travelers for four seasons with impressive buildings such as Buckingham Palace or Westminster Abbey to a royal city trip to the metropolis - even if the series was partly filmed elsewhere.

4. unorthodox - the undiscovered corners of Berlin

Based on the book of the same name by Deborah Feldmann, the series "Unorthodox" is about Esty, her life in a Hasidic society and her exit from the Jewish Orthodox community. The escape from her husband and her family brings her from Williamsburg in New York to Berlin. Serious yet humorous, the series shows the tremendous strength the young woman has to muster in order to make her own way. The journey leads through well-known trendy districts, important places in Berlin's Jewish history and all kinds of insider tips in the metropolis on the Spree. A great inspiration for all those who already know the top sights of the capital.

5. normal people - in the pubs of dublin

A series about a complicated yet loving on-off relationship between Marianne and Connell. From the end of their school days, until they go to university together in Dublin, a special bond develops between the two teenagers. He, the popular son of a single mother who works as a housekeeper for Marianne's well-heeled parents; she lonely, unassuming and insecure. Along with some misunderstandings and drama, the romantic drama series also shows some particularly beautiful corners of Dublin. The main filming location is Trinity College, but typical cafés, pubs and the Hugh Lane Gallery, a famous museum for modern art, also make you want to take a trip to the Irish capital.

6th Devs - Science Fiction in San Francisco

Young computer engineer Lily is on a search for a missing friend. At her own employer, a technology company in San Francisco, she finally comes across a secret development department that is pushing mysterious projects. Ambitious as Lily is, she does everything she can to find out exactly what happened. The science fiction series not only uncovers skeletons in the tech company's closet, but also features numerous locations in San Francisco. Iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street and Market Street make series fans dream of a city trip to San Francisco.

7. love and anarchy - tests of courage in Stockholm

The Swedish Netflix series is about a successful consultant Sofie who starts an affair with a young IT technician Max. The married woman from Stockholm enters into a charmingly funny game with her young colleague. In the process, they set each other increasingly questionable tasks that break the norms of society. At first harmless, the affair increasingly develops into a dangerous game with devastating consequences. The atmosphere of the Scandinavian city is the main reason why the audience is gripped by the desire to travel. In everyday encounters of the protagonists Stockholm shows its most beautiful side and awakens the desire for a city trip to Scandinavia.
