Small dream destinations: When cold temperatures move in around the Mediterranean in autumn and winter, the classic time for long-distance travel begins. All destinations have two things in common: they are ideal to visit in autumn and winter and are far away from the usual tourist crowds.

1. palau

About 800 kilometres east of the Philippines, in the middle of the western Pacific, lies the island state of Palau. People live on only eleven of the almost 350 islands of the national territory. Tourists from Europe are almost non-existent here. Palau's bays are home to the world-famous Blue Corner. The breathtaking diving area offers an incredible variety of corals and other marine life. Moreover, Palau is home to the Rock Islands, tropical mini-islands that rise out of the sea like mushrooms. They are best admired on a boat tour.

Entry requirements: Vacationers need a complete Corona vaccination at least 14 days old. Furthermore, the airline needs a negative PCR test, no more than 72 hours old, from every passenger. Alternatively, airlines will accept proof of recovery. All travelers are required to undergo a Corona test five days after arrival in Palau.

2. Koh Yao Noi, Thailand

The small island of Koh Yao Noi measures only 50 square kilometers. With its sister island Koh Yao Yai, it is located in the picturesque Phang Nga Bay. This lies between the southern Thai provinces of Phuket and Krabi. From November to March, travelers enjoy temperatures around 30 degrees and bright sunshine. A dream destination for those who want to experience Thai culture away from the crowds. Accommodation directly on the beach offers a fantastic view of the azure blue water and the tropical neighboring islands on a clear day.

Entry requirements: Holidaymakers apply for the Certificate of Entry required for entry via the website of the relevant Thai mission abroad. Travelers also need a negative PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old. Medical insurance, which also covers the treatment of corona diseases, is also mandatory. Koh Yao Noi allows (under certain conditions)
entry with quarantine-free stay from August 1, 2021 onwards.

3. cerf island, seychelles

The group of islands off the East African coast consists of about 115 islets. Besides the three main islands, the Seychelles offer many small, unknown islands. With only a few accommodations and only 100 inhabitants, holidaymakers will find an oasis of tranquility on Cerf Island. With no roads or shops, this small island is the ideal destination for lovers of nature and seclusion. Surrounded by an enchanting underwater world, Cerf Island is considered a true paradise for snorkelers. The beautiful, fine sandy beaches invite you to tranquil sunbathing and relaxation away from tourist crowds.

4. Los Roques

About 170 kilometers north of the Venezuelan capital Caracas is the island archipelago, Los Roques, in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. The archipelago has been an official national park since the 1970s, which means that only the main island of El Gran Roque is home to inhabitants. The other almost 50 small islands with about 200 sandbanks are completely untouched. They offer holidaymakers a wonderful variety of birds, fish, corals and various other marine life. With an average of 28 degrees and nine hours of sunshine a day, the snow-white sandy beaches invite you to relax away from the tourist crowds.

Entry requirements: In addition to a negative PCR test, carried out a maximum of 48 hours before the start of the flight, travellers register in an online portal before the start of the flight. Furthermore, another test, which is subject to a fee (around 50 EUR/60 USD) follows upon arrival.

5. sao Tome and Principe

Around 200 kilometres off the West African coast, holidaymakers will find a true paradise. The neighbouring islands of São Tomé and Príncipe captivate with idyllic solitude and tranquillity. Bright sandy beaches, palm-fringed shores and crystal-clear water invite you to relax. Between impressive volcanic rock and densely overgrown jungle, shy sea turtles can be observed on their way back into the waves. Travellers can expect an untouched paradise in complete tranquillity, almost to themselves.

Entry requirements: Other than a negative PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old, entrants do not need any other documentation.

6. comoros

The flag of the Islamic Federal Republic of Comoros is as colorful as the breathtaking play of colors of the local sunset. The archipelago is located in the Indian Ocean directly between Madagascar and the African mainland. Besides paradisiacal sandy beaches and active volcanoes, it also offers picturesque vegetation. Hobby divers will definitely get their money's worth in the idyllic bays. During the dive, the holidaymaker swims with majestic giant turtles and gigantic humpback whales. The Comoros owe the name Perfume Island to their fragrant plant plantations.

Entry requirements: To enter the country holidaymakers need a negative PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old. Furthermore, a health examination is carried out on arrival, which usually consists of a temperature measurement. If necessary, this is followed by another Corona test. There is no mask requirement in the Comoros.
