Golf paradise Kitzbühel Alps

When it comes to golf, Kitzbühel is probably no match for anyone else: High society has long been meeting here in summer to play golf together. Nine distinctive golf courses are located in the Kitzbühel Alps. Four of them are located directly in the famous ski resort, including Austria's best golf course: the Golfclub Kitzbühel was voted "Austria's Best Golf Course" for the third time in a row at the World Golf Awards 2019. If that's not enough, there are 22 other top courses in the immediate vicinity - just an hour's drive away. Outstanding hotels with luxurious wellness facilities and excellent gourmet cuisine make a golf holiday in Kitzbühel perfect.

Heartbeat in the Golf Heart Tyrol

Golf dreams definitely also come true in the golfing heart of Tyrol: the towns of Innsbruck, Seefeld and Mieming have joined forces so that you can play seven outstanding golf courses with just one card: Three 18-hole golf courses and four 9-hole courses. Afterwards you can put your feet up in the wellness area of your golf resort and let yourself be pampered.Golf dreams definitely come true in the golfing heart of Tyrol: the towns of Innsbruck, Seefeld and Mieming have joined forces so that you can play seven excellent golf courses with just one card: Three 18-hole golf courses and four 9-hole courses. Between lakes & mountains: golfing in the Salzkammergut region

Crystal clear lakes like the Mondsee, Attersee, Wolfgangsee or Fuschlsee on one side, a dreamlike mountain landscape on the other. And in the middle of it all you stand and try to concentrate on your tee shot... Welcome to the Salzkammergut! 13 golf courses are waiting here for you to play, including several 9-hole courses that are perfectly suited for golf courses for course qualification or to improve your handicap.

Burgenland: The longest golf season in the country

If you want to make sure that the weather doesn't throw a spanner in the works during your golf holiday, then head to Burgenland: with 300 days of sunshine a year, the region offers the best conditions for a sunny golfing experience. The golf season runs from the beginning of March to December. More than enough time to play your way through the five golf courses! With the Stegersbach golf course, Austria's largest golf resort is also located in Burgenland. If these are not enough reasons to pay a visit to the easternmost province of our Alpine Republic, then we don't know what is!

Golfing on the south side of the Alps

Picturesque landscape, numerous hours of sunshine all year round and many beautiful, warm bathing lakes right on the doorstep: all this speaks for a golf holiday in Carinthia. 12 excellent golf courses are waiting to be played. Ten of them are partners of the Alpe-Adria-Golf Card, which makes it possible to tee off on more than 20 golf courses in Carinthia, Slovenia and Italy. No wonder that Carinthia was awarded the title "Undiscovered Golf Destination of the year 2017" at the international golf trade fair IGTM in Mallorca three years ago!

Top Greens in the green heart of Austria

The green heart of Austria, Styria, makes the heart of golfers and those who want to become golfers beat faster with its top maintained greens: wooded slopes, babbling mountain streams and lush green meadows form a picturesque backdrop for the numerous top golf courses. A true championship course, for example, is the 18-hole course of the Murtal Golf Club, which was designed at the foot of the Seckau Alps by Irish architect Jeff Hows. No less challenging is the Trofaiach Golf Club with its tricky water hazards, situated on a high plateau and surrounded by the Eisenerz Alps.

Golf Alpin Card, one card - over 40 courses

Always encountering the same water hazard is not for you - you need variety? For all those who would love to try out every course in the area during their golf holiday, the Golf Alpin Card is extremely interesting. With it you can play 3, 4 or 5 rounds of golf for a fixed price - and you are spoilt for choice between 40 courses in Salzburg and Tyrol. Prices: € 209 for 3 green fees, € 272 for 4 green fees and € 340 for 5 green fees.

5 TIPS from golf pro Christine Wolf:

  1. Have fun! That's the most important thing about golf. Of course there are always moments when you don't feel like it, but at the end of the day it's your free time and it should be fun.

  2. Especially in the beginning it is important to take some lessons to learn the basics. But then it helps a lot to go out on the course and implement the new things while playing yourself. I think there should be a good balance between the practice facility and playing on the course.

  3. Set yourself small goals - whether in the swing, with the HCP, or in the short or long game. It is the small successes that then bring us to the really big successes.

  4. Trust your feeling. Most of the time, the first thoughts are the right ones - I often notice that myself when putting. There I see a line right at the beginning, and the longer I look, the more doubts can arise. To 99%, however, the first intuition is the right one.

  5. Enjoy the courses, the nature, and the landscape that surrounds you. Each course is unique, and sometimes a short stroll into nature can relax you, refocus you, and help your golf game.
