Independent Luggage

"We free travelers from luggage-related worries and give them the gift of a carefree day," says Luggit founder and CEO Ricardo Figueiredo. His business idea was awarded second place for the world's most innovative tourism idea by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 2020. And it's indeed a good one: travelers book the mobile service via the Luggit app or the online at luggit.app Just specify where and when the luggage is to be picked up – and where it will be handed back over to you. The advantage compared to storing it at the hotel is obvious: you can still enjoy your time before take-off without having to return to the hotel to pick up your belongings.

The so-called "keepers" collect the suitcases, seal them in front of the customer and store them afterwards. The keepers are certified and registered service providers. They then take the luggage to the desired location, such as the airport, at the desired time. The costs for the entire service are quite manageable – usually the same as a regular cab ride between the hotel and the airport.

Practical and safe

For example, if you book the service for two large and two small pieces of luggage, which are picked up in the morning in downtown Vienna and then brought to the departure terminal at Vienna Airport Schwechat in the afternoon in time for check-in, the cost will be about 40 euros.

The demand for this offer is steadily growing: many hotels offer it as an additional service for their guests. Luggit already operates in Barcelona, Lisbon, Porto, Vienna and Prague. But it's growing so rapidly, that it will soon be expanding to other cities as well.
