The Dolomites have a lot to offer. Perfect for the first trip after the lockdown. The Val Gardena, also known as Val Gardena, awaits its visitors with a brilliant view, fantastic slopes and excellent cuisine.

Whether active on the legendary Sellaronda, racy on the famous World Cup slope Saslong, enjoyable on the Seceda or cozy in the nature park Puez-Odle - the winter holiday in Val Gardena holds a personal highlight for everyone. The Val Gardena Valley not only delights with its spectacular mountain massifs such as the Sella massif or the unmistakable Sassolungo, which tower high above the Ladin winter sports resorts and make them unique. Many sunny days also allow young and old to marvel at the breathtaking panorama in this well-protected valley in South Tyrol every day.

Best of Hotels

If you decide on a ski holiday in the Dolomites, it's best to plan several days. Here you will find the six best hotels in the region.

1

Savoy Dolomites

At the "Savoy Dolomites Luxury Spa Hotel", the lift takes you directly from the ski room to the slopes of the Dolomiti Superski area Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi. The Ciampinoi chairlift is just 50 metres away, while the valley run from the "Plan de Gralba" ends at the hotel. Ski-in/ski-out piste fans experience pure skiing at the "Savoy Dolomites" in Selva Val Gardena, a fact also appreciated by World Cup skiing athlete Alex Vinatzer, Junior World Champion 2019 and bronze medal winner at the World Championships in Aare 2019, who is based here. You can at least try to follow in his footsteps, as the four-star superior wellness hotel in the Dolomites is located right on the Sellaronda ski circuit. Just as comfortable as the location, the hotel is also from the inside. Modernly furnished, the suites exude warmth and harmony. Only topped by the wellness and beauty area "Saliga" with private spa, alpine treatments, relaxing massages and soothing baths. After weightless strokes in the swimming pool with sluice to the open air and outdoor swimming area as well as a fabulous view of the Dolomite rocks, the pleasure continues in the culinary delights. Discreet luxury with loving details, the crackling fire at the open fireplace, soft sounds at the piano bar, the quiet reading corner, the warm wood of the Tyrolean parlour and the fine South Tyrolean cuisine with Mediterranean flavours, accompanied by exquisite wines, are the right ingredients to completely switch off. La Perla

Cosy wood and embroidered cushions, sparkling crystal and lovingly selected china, starched curtains at the small windows and finely ironed tablecloths - every dinner at "La Perla" is a pleasure for all the senses. The Michelin-starred restaurant "La Stüa de Michil" is reminiscent of times gone by with its subdued lighting and refined décor. The local woodwork creates a pristine atmosphere throughout the house, enchanting guests from the moment they step through one of the low parlour doors. The Costa host family knows, "The allure of this house is not so much what it offers, but what it does without." In any case, the reality surpasses the fantasy: best location to the lift, fine cuisine, a small spa - indeed a pearl. Double room from € 230,- p. p.

4

Eagle Lodge Alpe

On the Alpe di Siusi you can feel the moment. You look at the Sassolungo and Sciliar and are one with nature. The "Adler Lodge Alpe" consists of a main house with 18 suites and 12 chalets. They are built of solid wood, spruce, larch and oak. Whoever enters stands in the lounge with fireplace and armchairs made of cowhides and leather. Behind it is the restaurant. The wood of the ceilings is precisely crafted and individual boards have been deliberately planed in the wrong direction. The result is the impression of a relief. The architects Hugo and Hanspeter Demetz call it "playing with material". But art never imposes itself on the visitor. On the floors in the spa's treatment rooms are alpine hay and marigolds covered in synthetic resin. No matter whether you are sitting on the balcony or lying in bed, you always look out. Nature plays the leading role here. Double room from € 260,- per person.

5

Forestis

The "Forestis" is a hideaway where time becomes tangible and where physical and mental mindfulness gain enormous value. "The combination of the four elements of nature with artful architecture allowed something profound to emerge in this place," say hosts Teresa and Stefan Hinteregger. The Forestis Spa finds its inspiration in the occurrences of nature and the wisdom of the Celts, who developed their vast healing knowledge here in the forests and mountains. The grounding retreat is only surpassed by the two-story, 200-square-meter penthouse, which offers views of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites surrounded by treetops. The visual sensations are complemented by the tasteful ones: the forest cuisine follows the philosophy about field cultivation, gathering in the forest and the natural processing of the products. Double room from € 420,- per person.
