New Mandarin Oriental Property to Open in China in 2028

The renowned hotel chain is expanding its portfolio in China: In 2028, the Mandarin Oriental Tianfu is scheduled to open in the Tianfu business district, a new area in the megacity of Chengdu.

News from the Far East: China will get a new Mandarin Oriental in 2028, planned for the Tianfu business district near Chengdu. The new opening joins the high-profile portfolio of the brand, which already operates Chinese properties in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Sanya. The new location was cleverly selected – the Tianfu New Area is set to become Southwest China's central commercial hub in the coming years.

First class luxury in the heart of Szechuan

The new opening, planned for 2028, will include a whopping 267 rooms and suites in the brand's usual luxurious style. Large panoramic windows and numerous green spaces will create a natural ambience in the middle of the big city. The property will also house a Mandarin Oriental Spa and a large gym including an indoor pool.

It almost goes without saying that the luxury hotel, with its location in the most important business district in southwest China, will have numerous meeting and event rooms to the benefit of large companies.

Green Business District: Opening in Tianfu

The new opening is planned for the center of the main development zone of Tianfu, where it will be surrounded by numerous offices and headquarters of multinational companies. The business district is located about 25 kilometers south of the old town of Chengdu and is easily accessible by subway and high-speed train. In addition to modern skyscrapers, there's a lot of greenery: known as the "Park District," Tianfu covers a whole 3,000 hectares of green spaces – all in close vicinity to the new the Mandarin Oriental.

Mandarin Oriental: from Hong Kong to the world

Founded in 1963, the Hong Kong-based Mandarin Oriental Group has enjoyed numerous successes over the past 60 years. The portfolio of the luxury hotel chain now includes around 40 five-star hotels and resorts as well as a number of residences. These are located in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and America. In addition, countless other openings are planned for the coming years. For example, the Mandarin Oriental Vienna, which is scheduled to open in 2023.
