Relaxing time out in the newly opened Stock & Stein Lodges

If you suddenly spy a cluster of cubes in the Styrian volcanic countryside: they are the exclusive Stock & Stein Lodges, which are now open for guests who wish for a relaxing getaway in the countryside.

After two years of construction, it is ready: in Bad Gleichenbach in the Austrian district of Haag stands a luxurious vacation domicile in the form of individual cubes. The local construction investor Jürgen Tackner invested around 4 million euros in the ten Stock & Stein Logdes.

The domiciles are located in the heart of the Styrian thermal spa and volcano country. The architecture blends modern design and high-quality natural materials. This makes the lodges an interesting choice of accommodation, especially - but not exclusively - for vacationers with a penchant for unusual architecture.

Sophisticated unique specimen

Architect Kalina Grantcharova and architect Thomas Zach, both from Graz, went to work with great ingenuity: with the discreet twisting and shifting of the two-story superimposed building blocks, the architects provide a special living experience. The orientation of the lodges opens up views of a picturesque landscape that can be enjoyed directly from the balcony.

The exterior facades of carbonized larch pick up the color of the surrounding volcanic rock. Spruce wood walls and floor, made of natural material, provide a cozy living ambience. Glazing makes the spatial boundaries between the inside and the outside disappear.

So close to nature

The location of the luxury vacation apartments impresses with attractive excursion destinations into the volcanic country. On a culinary level there's also much within reach: about 14 Haubenlokale can be found in the immediate vicinity.

Energy efficiency and sustainability were also considered: by means of the use of geothermal energy through deep drilling based on brine for heating and cooling, as well as the use of water-permeable leachate asphalt for natural regulation of the soil.
