Alpine charm with a special chic touch - that's how you could describe the atmosphere in the only five-star superior hotel in the Grisons ski resort of Samnaun. Since the extensive makeover in 2022, the Chasa Montana has positioned itself as an Alpine Luxury Hideaway: A completely new living experience has been created inside with architectural masterpieces. The finest Swiss stone pine and larch wood was used in the 45 suites and rooms, while granite successfully breaks up the alpine look and gives it a sophisticated touch. The traditional hotel's reputation for first-class service, upscale Michelin-starred cuisine and the ultimate in relaxation remains unchanged. Warming effects are particularly beneficial in the winter months. The 1,500 square meter Montana Spa with its large water world and diverse sauna area in a high-quality ambience invites you to take a break from everyday life.

Waldhaus Sils

Four ski areas with over 350 kilometers of pistes and the largest cross-country skiing area in Switzerland are located in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Waldhaus Sils. It's the dreamlike nature of the Engadine with its multitude of activities that attracts many visitors every year. The hotel itself has been family-owned for over a century, and traditions, warm service and sustainable enjoyment are very important here - just like the seasonal ingredients from the region that are used in the Waldhaus kitchen and served as creative creations in the restaurants. Every Monday, the kitchen crew also invites guests to the Chef's Table. Because winter means coziness, those seeking relaxation immerse themselves in the Waldhaus Spa. Here, the boundaries between inside and outside, warm and cold, water and air become blurred. Relaxation is of course included.

7132 Hotel

Julien Balmer

There's a special aura that surrounds the area around the 7132 Hotel. The small Swiss village of Vals lies at an altitude of 1,250 meters, and winter arrives early in the year. Light-colored materials were used to build the minimalist hideaway, allowing it to blend in with the snowy surroundings. The hotel's own thermal spa is a different story, built from dark Vals quartzite and rising out of the snow like a statement. In this architectural masterpiece, highly mineralized water bubbles up from the St. Peters spring, the healing power of which is particularly beneficial for body and soul in the cold months. Guests can experience culinary delights at 7132 Silver, the talent factory and stage of up-and-coming head chef Marcel Koolen. Inspired by the high alpine nature, his team creates dishes of the highest standard.

Suvretta House

For over 100 years, the Suvretta House has stood majestically like a timeless jewel just outside St. Moritz. Situated at 1,850 meters, magically hidden between forests, it overlooks the snow-covered expanse of the Upper Engadine. Traditions are still upheld here to this day, especially those reminiscent of Merry Olde England. The elegant dress code in the Grand Restaurant is one of them. Here, chef Fabrizio Zanetti conjures up a first-class, French-inspired menu every evening. During the day, guests are drawn to the ski area. For that extra luxury factor, the five-star hotel has its own private ski lift.

The Alpina Gstaad

Michael Sinclair

The Alpina Gstaad looks almost like something out of a fairy tale, with its four turrets jutting out of the snow-covered slopes of the Bernese Alps. And indeed, a world of its own opens up when you enter the luxurious five-star hotel. The traditional Swiss architecture with alpine style is reflected particularly well in the stately rooms. Coziness is complemented by sophistication and elegance: in the 56 spacious rooms and suites, in the four high-quality restaurants (two of which are star-rated) or in Switzerland's first Six Senses Spa, which focuses on Asian healing methods. Art connoisseurs looking for something special will lose themselves in the large private collection.
