Location & neighborhood

Baros Maldives is just a short speedboat ride from Malé International Airport. Anyone who has ever had to stay in the airport lounge for ages due to unsettled weather because the Seaplane could not take off will appreciate the location. In addition, the proximity to Malé City allows for excursions to the island nation's metropolis. Guests can immerse themselves in Maldivian culture, go shopping and sample local cuisine. There are also other luxurious islands in the immediate vicinity, including the Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru. Ideal for island hopping without long transfer times.

Rooms & suites

In total, the small island, which you can walk around in about 10 minutes, houses 75 accommodations. These are spread over 30 overwater villas and 45 beach villas. The smallest of them is a generous 89 square meters. Most villas have a private pool. The largest accommodation is the Baros Residence. It scores with 270 square meters of living space and a private beach area.

Food & Drinks

In culinary terms, the mini-resort attracts with great cuisine. In the Lime Restaurant, guests enjoy their breakfast by the Main Pool and with a view of the lagoon. Every single ingredient of the lovingly prepared and extensive breakfast buffet is a culinary hit. The selection ranges from Maldivian curries to Asian soups and French pastry specialties. Unusually excellent for the Muslim Maldives is the fried bacon.

While the reef sharks make their rounds at their feet, the guests of the Cayenne Grill - nomen est omen - enjoy grilled specialties à la carte. Seafood, Wagyu beef, lamb from New Zealand and fish are on the menu. It combines international tastes from all over the world. Fine dining is the motto at the Lighthouse Restaurant. Steaks, modern classics and exotic flavours characterise the cuisine. As a pre-dinner treat, be sure to indulge in one of the excellent cocktails at the Sails Bar. For an extra dose of memorability, there's Destination Dining on the Piano Deck in the middle of the ocean or a gourmet picnic on the sandbank.

Service & Ambience

Baros Maldives was one of the first luxury hideaways in the island nation. They have been welcoming guests seeking tranquility here since 1973. These years of experience can be felt in every respect. Many of the staff have been part of a team for decades and are perfectly attuned to each other. Courtesy, service-oriented actions, uncomplicated communication with the villa butler via WhatsApp and impeccable cleanliness in all areas speak for themselves. The team is always ready to offer guests an unforgettable stay with many extras.

The design of the restaurants, public areas and villas is particularly stylish and beautiful. While you enjoy your drink in front of the Sailsbar under towering palm trees, you feel like in times long past without having to do without modern amenities. The mix of artefacts from times long past and contemporary elements cannot be called anything other than perfect.

For families

The resort does not call itself a dedicated adults-only Hideaway. Children over the age of 8 are certainly welcome. However, there are no facilities for kids. It is quite simply designed and conceived for couples seeking tranquility. Accessible accommodations are available for guests traveling in wheelchairs. Top: there are special rental wheelchairs that are sand accessible.

A Tip from the editorial office

The house reef is one of the most beautiful in the island state. Besides turtles, stingrays and reef sharks, a multitude of colorful fish accompany every snorkeling tour. On guided excursions with the experienced marine team you can see much more. And learn all about the flora and fauna of the island at the same time. Baros is perfect for snorkellers! It is commendable that Baros is committed to the preservation of the coral reef. They breed the delicate creatures, gradually populating the reef. Guests can watch coral planting. The resort encourages its guests to help with coral conservation.

If you don't go snorkelling here, you're missing out on the best! © Baros Maldives
