The importance of Milan as a trendsetter in fashion and design cannot be overstated: The northern Italian hub's influence reaches far beyond Europe and affects everything from streetwear to living rooms. During springtime, the city more than lives up to its reputation: Its world-famous Fashion Week in late February is followed in mid-April by the Milan Design Week, where international trade fairs like Fuorisalone (April 15-21) or the Salone del Mobile.Milano (April 16-21) present the future of interior design. The latter promises to be a truly superlative event: Over 1,900 exhibitors makes it the largest furniture fair in the world, with an enormous program of round tables, talks and special events – including an installation by cult director David Lynch. Numerous smaller events also take place throughout the city. But where are the best spots to eat and stay during the fair? Here are the most beautiful and trendiest addresses in Milan.
