This Expedition Offers Luxury at the Highest Level

For the first time, high-end luxury can be enjoyed on a polar expedition - the "Scenic Eclipse", the world's first Discovery yacht, fills the gap in the market.

July 4, 2023

On board the "Scenic Eclipse", guests can expect suites instead of cabins, personal attention from a butler and an all-inclusive service that extends from the minibar to the delicacies of the champagne bar in the "Lumière" restaurant - one of ten culinary experiences on board. And yet the ship is casual, with no gala dinners or pompous evening wear. The stay is perfect for adventurers and nature lovers who want to enjoy themselves. To explore the depths of the seas, guests have a submarine at their disposal, and two helicopters circle over the white polar world.

The manageable size of the ship is also pleasant, with room for a maximum of 228 passengers. Not only is it possible to visit smaller ports, such as Dubrovnik or Seville, that large cruise ships don't have access to; the size also makes the daily excursions more exclusive and intimate. On board itself, there are plenty of retreats for every guest - you either have the sauna in the spa all to yourself or can read a book in peace in the cabana on deck.

In April 2023, the almost identical sister ship, the Scenic Eclipse II, will set sail on her maiden voyage from Lisbon. She complements the route network of Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours around the South Pacific and the sea routes around Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania.

The variety in dining is as remarkable as it is exclusive: guests can look forward to Japanese specialties with fresh sushi at Koko's, Italian slow food, Asian street food from the Teppanyaki grill, French haute cuisine, and cooking classes with the outstanding chefs on board - to name just a few of the culinary highlights to be experienced on the high seas.
