Mallorca is a favorite destination among sun-seeking travelers not only because of its beaches and numerous exciting gastro concepts. The island's nature is also quite something to behold. The vacation home and finca broker Fincallorca reveals its insider tips: here are the most beautiful viewpoints in Mallorca:

The trip begins in the northwest of the island, a few kilometers from Cala Ratjada. Here, you walk between natural stone houses and narrow streets. The mountain Puig de Capdepera towers above the village of 11,000 souls. Its summit is crowned by a castle. A trip is worthwhile, because inside visitors can await a small museum that tells the history of Capdepera. In addition, there's a lookout tower. From there, the view falls on the sea as well as on the surroundings. Tip from the editor: numerous hikes start here.

Located on the mountain road between Banyalbufar and Estellencs in the Tramuntana, the Wachturm Torre des Veger was once built to ward off pirate attacks by the Moors early. There used to be a total of 85 of these structures called Talaies. The name translated means lookout point of the souls. It refers to a chapel that is said to have stood here in the past. It's said to have given the deceased a last view of the panorama before they set out on their way to the afterlife. And the view is breathtaking in itself. Tip from the editors: a stop for a swim at the rocky bay Cala Estellencs is also worthwhile a visit.

Cap de Formentor lighthouse

Not only one of the most spectacular, but also the oldest viewpoints on Mallorca is located at the northernmost point of the island. In 1863, they built the 22 meter high lighthouse Far de Formentor. It still points from its lofty point 210 meters above the sea ships the way along the fissured coast. This makes it one of 13 active lighthouses on the Balearic island. The wildly romantic surroundings are just as worth seeing as the lighthouse. Tips from the editors: there's a small restaurant on the ground floor. And if you're feeling sporty, you can descend the 167 steps to the sea. On a clear day, you can see as far as Menorca!

Castell de Bellver

Three kilometers west of the center of the island's capital, Palma, lies the legendary Castell de Bellver on a small hill. Its architecture makes it unique in all of Europe. Contrary to other castle buildings, this Castell is namely round. It was commissioned by King Jaume II in 1300. It took only nine years to complete the unusual structure. Today, it houses a museum and serves time and again as a venue for concerts and exhibitions. Tip from the editors: admission is free on Sundays!

Sa Foradada

Enough of buildings, impressive as they may be? Then a stop between Valdemossa and Deià is simply a must-visit. Because between them lies the peninsula Sa Foradada. It's spectacular in a different way. Namely, it's the jagged rocks that contrast with the blue of the sea, worth seeing. The characteristic rocky outcrop that looks like a pierced rock (hence the name of the peninsula) is a popular photo motif. The associated viewpoint in the bay can be reached on foot. Allegedly, the sunset is one of the most beautiful in Mallorca. Tip from the editor: the restaurant Sa Foradada is an island institution!
