A boutique hotel with just 36 rooms and a friendly welcome in a beautiful Art Nouveau building that was only converted into a hotel in 2017. It's located in an up-and-coming district and opposite the legendary seafood restaurant Cervejaria Ramiro (see below).

The Ivens

This hotel, which is part of the Marriott Group, opened in 2022 and is named after a Portuguese explorer and aims to give guests the feeling of being an explorer - which is achieved with colonial-style furniture and trophy imitations of elephants and birds of paradise.

This is a long-established fish and seafood restaurant that is as simple as it is excellent and extends over three floors. Ever since cooking star Anthony Bourdain visited the restaurant, it has enjoyed a worldwide cult following and you have to queue to get a table.
