Amanpuri in Phuket: the legend returns

With special retreats and some new additions, the Aman Group's first property will welcome guests back from August 1, 2021.

23 July 2021

The iconic Amanpuri in Phuket has been considered the epitome of luxury and tranquility for three decades. After an enforced break due to the pandemic, the hideaway on the Andaman Sea is reopening on August 1. Guests can look forward to some new features.

Reinventing Paradise

For some time it was quiet around the islands of Thailand. However, since July 1 2021, a visit to Phuket is now possible again for tourists. The Kingdom's largest island beckons with beautiful beaches, crystal clear bays and some exceptional hotels. One of these is the Amanpuri, which first opened more than 30 years ago. The flagship of the Aman Group, known for its quiet location in the middle of a coconut palm grove on a peninsula, its impeccable service and the black pools, used the last few months to fine-tune some details of their concept.

In future, guests will benefit from a range of offers specifically designed for groups. For example, in addition to accommodation in a spacious villa, the Amanpuri Villa Experience offers full board with a personal Thai chef and butler, a 60-minute holistic massage, daily group exercise classes and full access to the resort's exceptional facilities, such as the Eco-Beach Discovery Centre.

Feeling of happiness for gourmets

Whether it's a special occasion or just celebrating life, Sunset Terrace is the best place to be. The new F&B outlet offers a fantastic view of the bay. Here the sound of the sea becomes background music, accompanying every course. The revised menu for the coming season is inspired by Thai myths, legends and folk tales. Those looking for extra privacy can now book a floating island. It allows for a dinner floating directly in the sea with a view of the Amanpuri.

As part of a new gastronomy series, Michelin-starred chefs will cook on selected dates. Chef Wilfrid Hocquet, Executive Chef at Blue by Alain Ducasse, a Thai Cooking Masterclass with Chefcock Kannika and Pasta Making Masterclasses are just some of the highlights planned.

Retreats: retreat and rest

One of the most renowned in Thailand, the holistic spa at Amanpuri is offering a variety of exclusive retreats in the coming season. It kicks off with "Journey to Peace: As it is" (from October 19 to 25, 2021) led by Master Geshe YongDong. The Buddhist monk and mindfulness trainer will guide participants to let go. Daily Tsa Lung breathwork and a 90-minute group training session bring calmness and clarity. Aman Signature Spa treatments complement the offerings, as does a daily chanting session, mantra recitation and meditation.
