There are few hotels like the luxurious L'Apogée Courchevel in the French Alps. Even when it opened ten years ago, it was destined to become a legend. A decade later, the first anniversary celebrations are now underway, including a special guest performance.

Mediterranean highlights in the Alps

This brings chef Gennaro Esposito from the Mediterranean to the Alps. He normally cooks at La Palma on Capri, another hotel in the Oetker Collection. As consultant chef, he'll be at the stove alongside Jean-Luc Lefrançois, head chef at L'Apogée Courchevel, and Tanya Colella. Colella is an excellent pâtissière and is therefore responsible for unforgettable delicacies of the sweet variety.

For the tenth anniversary, the masters of their craft are joining forces to create Gennaro's. This is a pop-up restaurant that focuses on the strong flavors of the sun-drenched cuisine of Capri. The pop-up can be found in the main restaurant of L'Apogée Courchevel. While the sun always shines on the plates, the view falls on the deeply snow-covered winter landscape outside.

Italian delights

It's clear that the creations at Gennaro's taste good. After all, Esposito is a big name on the gourmet scene. His restaurant Torre del Saracino in Naples has been awarded two stars by the Michelin Guide. Espostio was almost born into the world of cooking, having already lent a hand in his mother's kitchen. And he acquired additional knowledge in his uncle's pastry shop. After working for Gianfranco Vissani and Alain Ducasse, he opened his own restaurant. He also works as Executive Chef at La Palma.

Tanya Colella also has Italian roots. She'll use them as the basis for her sweet delicacies at Gennaro's. For her contribution to the pop-up restaurant's dessert menu, she remembered her own childhood. Colella spent her childhood with her grandparents in Puglia. It's clear that almonds and many well-kept family recipes are being taken into new spheres by her. The pop-up was created by designer Francis Sultana. He created a place with a warm atmosphere. Soft materials, such as rust and ochre-colored velvet, play their main role. At the same time, however, they also pick up on the alpine theme.
