August 25, 2023

A cruise - but make it Four Seasons? That's possible! Because with the Four Seasons Explorer, guests of the luxury hotel brand have an extremely exclusive catamaran at their disposal. This offers its guests not only all the amenities that one is accustomed to from Four Seasons. But from October 2023 there's also a special route through the island world Palaus in the South Pacific.

On the way to the underwater wonder

Hardly any region in the world is still as untouched as the South Pacific. With Palau you'll find a paradise here, which consists of a total of 356 small and large islands. Lushly overgrown and surrounded by the crystal-clear South Pacific, they are a refuge for numerous species of flora and fauna. Only eleven islands are inhabited, but the Four Seasons Explorer also lands at the uninhabited emerald islets. This gives guests the once in a lifetime opportunity to experience unspoiled nature up close.

Even under water you won't stop being amazed. Palau is home to 1500 species of fish, 700 species of coral and anemones. If you go diving or snorkeling here, you'll encounter stingrays and wrasses as well as turtles, reef sharks, whale sharks and rays. The approximately 500,000 square kilometer marine reserve is home to dugongs, giant clams and saltwater crocodiles, among others.

The fact that the travelers get particularly close to the wonder of Palau is due to the shallow draft of the catamaran. This isn't more than two meters. Even bays and islands that are inaccessible to other ships can be reached by the Four Seasons Explorer. Thanks to the onboard PADI 5-star dive center, guests can rent top-notch equipment. Multilingual, expert guides set out daily with guests on excursions into the underwater world. Even a videographer is on hand. He records the adventures of the guests.

Dive spots like Blue Corner, the Peleliu Wall and the glittering stalactite cave Chandelier Cave are on the diving program as well as the Helmet Wreck. The latter is a 58-meter-long ship that sank during World War II and lies almost intact on the seabed. Those who are in the mood for adventures of a different kind can also enjoy kayaking, surfing, SUP or yoga.

The offerings aboard the Four Seasons Explorer also include breathing exercises, relaxation treatments, shore excursions and quiet moments on deck. While guests need do nothing more than experience the journey of a lifetime, the crew attentively cares for the mere 22 guests. The chefs provide them with menus that change daily. They are, of course, also inspired by the island world of Palau.

Four Seasons Explorer tours cost from around €2,800 per night including meals. They are bookable here.
