Silversea sets sail for a luxurious future

With the Silver Moon, the ninth ship of the luxury cruiseline recently set sail and is setting standards in terms of luxury.

7 September 2021

Ultra luxurious presents itself the newcomer of the Silversea Cruiseline: The "Silver Moon" set sail from Athens on July 18 as the first ultra-luxury cruise ship this year, heralding its first season between the islands of Greece. Ten days later, on 28 July, the ceremonial naming of the ship was celebrated in the port of Piraeus with ship's sponsor Gaia Gaja and numerous guests of honour.

Quiet luxury

With a capacity of 596 passengers, the Silver Moon is the second ship of the Muse class and impresses with quiet luxury from bow to stern. The suites impress with ultra-elegant furniture and plenty of space. Where the guests' wishes are concerned, the private butler reads the guests' minds, measures fever daily and serves breakfast, snacks and dinner in the suite on request. Fine soaps and creams from Bulgari await in the bathroom; the pillow can be chosen at will from the pillow menu - highlights like these round off the luxury stay perfectly.

Exceptional culinary concept

With the S.A.L.T.-With its "Sea and Land Taste" programme, the ship is the first of the brand to promise brilliant taste experiences. The daily changing menu in the S.A.L.T. Kitchen adapts to the respective regions and ports that one is sailing through or anchoring at. Travellers are sent on a culinary cruise and, in addition to cooking classes, can attend lectures by S.A.L.T. speakers and experience selected excursions ashore with a culinary focus. Silversea CCO Barbara Muckermann and Adam Sachs, former Editor in Chief of SAVEUR magazine, are spearheading this extraordinary program.
