Mariahilfer Strasse in Vienna is one of the most popular shopping streets in the Danube metropolis. And in the next few years, it will be enriched by a new attraction. For there, where a building that housed a furniture store in recent years had stood since 1895, there is currently a gaping hole. No wonder, since construction work is underway on one of the most spectacular projects of recent decades. The building complex is scheduled to open as early as 2024 and, in addition to public open spaces, will house a future-oriented traditional department store, entertainment venues and culinary delights. And the Thomspon Vienna will also be a luxurious new lifestyle hotel.

Thompson Vienna at "Mahü 10-18"

The hotel will be the third Hyatt hotel in the Austrian capital after the Park Hyatt Vienna and the Andaz Vienna am Belvedere. The world-renowned architects from OMA and the interior designers, Tara Bernerd & Partners, are responsible for the design. Guests can already look forward to a modern and edgy feel. The inspiration for this? It comes directly from the Austrian city, of course. The design typical of the Thompson Hotels brand, the outstanding service, and culinary highlights are of course also moving in.

Guests will choose from 148 rooms; they will be available for occupancy for the first time at the end of 2024. "With its special ambience and dynamic social scene, what is already the third Hyatt property in Vienna will attract both guests and locals alike."

The unprecedented development is designed to bring together premium shopping, dining, entertainment, fashion and hospitality in one location," said Felicity Black-Roberts, Hyatt's Vice President of Development Europe. The brand is thus continuing its expansion plans. Because only recently they announced the opening of the Thompson Madrid in the summer of 2022.
