In the heart of the old town, O Boteco offers the finest Brazilian cuisine. But the restaurant also knows how to convince with its relaxed and stylish ambience. Dark wood is surrounded by rough plastered walls, lots of greenery and visual eye-catchers like the large colorful chandelier that hangs above the tables. A must-try among the appetizers is the ceviche amazónico with black tiger prawns. Gin fans shouldn't miss O Talho. Reservations recommended!

Hidden behind a green door, in a building from the 18th century, is the Clube de Jornalistas. An insider tip among journalists that will also appeal to non-writers. The tables are filled with authentic Portuguese cuisine. The menu - written in typewriter font, of course - is clear and excellent: There's pumpkin soup with cream cheese, followed by octopus in rosemary, sweet potato puree and chives. The tasting menu is particularly recommended, offering a well-rounded insight into the country's cuisine.

The Portuguese celebrity chef created the culinary concepts for the four restaurants. Among them is Páteo, which offers a modern interpretation of regional and national dishes. Here, in any case, you should do as the "Lisboetas" do, order several dishes and share them in good Portuguese style.

Lisbon lovers will certainly have heard of the Taberna da Rua das Flores: The small, charming bar makes itself heard with excellent tapas dishes. And: a long waiting list. If you can't make it on time, head instead to Antiga Camponesa, a five-minute walk away: Created by the Taberna's chef, you'll be treated to fine Portuguese cuisine here. Unlike in the Taberna, you are encouraged to enjoy the dishes in a classic Central European way. In other words, everyone stays on his or her plate. The appetizer, such as fresh mussels, is nevertheless shared.
