Once a venerable manor house from the 16th century - today an exclusive boutique hotel in Palmas Old Town. Steeped in history, the Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden once belonged to a merchant who, along with his family, welcomed friends from all over. It has been lovingly and painstakingly restored to preserve its special magic. Even now, the hotel is a popular meeting place for guests from all over the world.

A charming trendy hotel in the middle of Palma

Anyone travelling to Mallorca should definitely make a stopover in Palma. Especially the old town impresses with idyllic corners and wonderful restaurants. And right in the middle is the boutique hotel, which exudes a magical charm. Most recently, the building housed a Christian school. Former students still recognize the steps that led to their classrooms. But it has since been lovingly restored, preserving original elements.

Instead of whitewashing, alleged flaws such as cracks in the walls were deliberately highlighted and refined using the so-called Kintsugi technique. The Japanese method deals with repairing broken ceramics. It represents appreciation of the material, honoring tradition and history. The use of gold and silver pigments creates something very special. Two-tone floor tiles, high-quality parquet flooring, hand-blown windows, frescoes and solid doors, as well as flat-screen TVs hidden behind mirrors that have graced the rooms for generations - all these elements reflect the personality and history of the house and blend effortlessly with the now.

When antiques meet designer pieces

The former classrooms were converted into 24 tailor-made suites. Here, too, the successful restoration continues. Antiques from all over Europe, such as cabinets, chairs and valuable carpets, mix with selected designer pieces: Faucets by Agape, lamps by Gordiola, design elements by Artemide, Santa & Cole, Flos, Thonet, Baxter or Moroso chairs and sofas. Heavy, coloured velvet curtains serve as room dividers and convey a sense of security.

Oversized beds covered with Egyptian cotton, sophisticated lighting systems and control via tablets are the perfect complement. The mix creates a harmonious overall picture. You can feel the flair of a private home, whose interior was created from carefully selected travel souvenirs and individual taste.

The jewel of the hotel

Guests can choose between seven different suite categories, each of which is unique. The Grand Suite and the Sky Suite are among the most popular among guests. The 80sqm one is considered the jewel of the hotel and enchants its guests especially through the huge glass windows with a beautiful view of the garden. The imposing mirror not only makes the room look even bigger, but also hides a large home cinema-sized TV. The luxurious bed and freestanding bathtub invite relaxation and are wonderful to share with your loved one. In the suite's lounge, guests can choose from the finest teas or enjoy a drink from the iconic vintage minibar with integrated sound system.

The Sky Suite with its 70 sqm roof terrace, which offers spectacular views over Palma and its landmark - the cathedral - is also very popular. The Mediterranean flair, the private Jacuzzi and the comfortable hammock invite you to linger. Perfect for couples who want a lot of privacy. The team is also happy to arrange private dinners and provide unforgettable, romantic nights under the starry Mallorcan sky.
