For example, installations by Singapore-based contemporary art agency The Artling are an integral part of the resort. They form a coherent path across the island. This invites visitors to reflect, marvel and participate. Whether it's the six-meter-high tapestry Home Deep Blue or the Skyspace Pavilion by James Turrell: visual surprises are guaranteed.

Another one of the hotels for art fans is also located in the Indian Ocean. It's Raffles Seychelles, which turned a businesswoman into an artist: Birgitt Lübkemann, a German by birth, visited the Seychelles for the first time at the age of 57. She was immediately fascinated. There was no turning back. Instead of ball pens and a commercial career, there was only art from now on. Her works, like those of local artist Sheila Markham, are on display at Raffles Art & Design Gallery. Birgitt Lübkemann's paintings are convincing with their splendid colors, interflowing forms and abstract character.
