Penned by interior designer Ivan Gradišar, the design is all about the treble clefs, scales, octaves and notes of the city of music: the original idea for the Symphony Suite of The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna was to balance the rich history of this unique place with its commitment to the future. ''The idea was to harmoniously weave the old with the new, offering a unique experience in the present,'' describes Ivan Gradišar, further emphasizing, ''Our idea was to divide the interior into zones following the elements of the sonata form - the materials and the feeling of the space followed this original idea."

Metaphorically speaking, the structure of the new Symphony Suite thus follows the musical form of the sonata, which allows two opposing themes - past and future - to come to bear. These contrasts can already be experienced in the entrance area, where the formal and classical style is combined with modern red furnishings. The suite is characterized by three arches as spatial elements that are meant to reflect contemporary Viennese street life above the windows.

Connecting the living room with the bedroom, the arches create a space with a ceiling inspired by the historic Spanish Riding School in Vienna. The refined choice of materials and furniture perfects the composition and guides the occupants from thematic contrasts to calmer feelings in the bedroom and bathroom - from where the view leads directly to Beethoven Park, recalling the premiere of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in Vienna in 1824.
