The Two Latest Gourmet Restaurants for Foodies in Lucerne

With Minamo, the Mandarin Oriental Palace Hotel opens the first Japanese omakase restaurant in Lucerne, while Colonnade serves French haute cuisine.

Good news for gourmets: as of April 2023, the two new gourmet restaurants Minamo and Colonnade will be open at the five-star superior hotel Mandarin Oriental Palace.

Minamo, open since April 7, follows the concept of Omakase-Dining: here the guests don't know the menu and are surprised by the chef on site. For two hours, chef Toshiro San spoils you with culinary delights, and you eat directly at the restaurant's wooden counter.

San has many years of experience in Japanese cuisine - right before the eyes of the guests, he'll prepare dishes such as chawamushi with shiitake. There is also a concept behind the restaurant's logo design: Minamo means reflection of water, so the shape of the logo refers to the outline of Lake Lucerne.

French haute cuisine

The second new opening, the Colonnade, serves modern French haute cuisine with a regional twist. here, Gilad Peled, who brings more than 16 years of experience from top gastronomy, calls the shots. In his menus, he aims to bring the ingredients and their flavors to the forefront. His signature dish: turbot on a beurre blanc. The restaurant, which will be open from April 19, is housed in a listed building with a belle époque flair.
