These new Great Plains Camps in Kenya are not to be missed

Exclusive camps in nature: experience luxury and the African wilderness in equal measure.

23 July 2021

If you want to immerse yourself in the habitat of Kenya and not miss out on anything, the best way is to embark on the ultimate holiday experience of the Great Plains Camps! Here you experience things that you won't soon forget and don't have to forego the luxury of private travel for a second.

The campsite has now added three new luxury tent sites to their accommodations.

1. Mara Expedition Camp

The new Mara Expedition Camp is set in the middle of a lush acacia forest. There are six large tents that provide the right comfort for everyone. A large terrace at ground level ensures that guests become one with the nature of Africa. Through the camp's own show kitchen, guests can taste exclusive specialities of the region and get to know the other camp residents. Because the land on which the luxury tents are located is privately owned, guests have the opportunity to experience unique guided tours.

2. Mara Toto

The slightly smaller Mara Toto Camp is nestled directly in a gorgeous ebony grove. One of the local leopard ladies probably knew exactly just how beautiful this accommodation in Kenya is, because she chose one of the tents to give birth to her baby. This baby leopard was henceforth named "Toto", which means "small" - hence the name of the camp. The tents offer pure privacy, which is why they are so popular for small groups, solo travellers and couples.

3. Mara Plains

Hidden high up in the trees are the exclusive tents of Mara Plains Camp. Here guests can relax in their accommodation while being closer to the nature in Kenya than ever before. There's a fantastic view allowing you to look out onto the adjacent river, where hippos like to hang out. Also worth a visit is the unique Honeymoon Suite, which has its own access to the spa and kitchen via a suspension bridge.
