Historical moments in Italy

VOIhotels has chosen Sardinia and Sicily, Calabria and Apulia as locations for their houses, to experience the most beautiful sides of Italian hospitality and to let body and soul blossom between beach and nature. One of the main focuses of the VOIhotels is the lavish and sustainable renovation of historic buildings, which offer the connoisseur an extraordinary holiday experience. The Luxury VRetreats Collection, which was launched in 2016, includes exceptional jewels such as the Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel in Rome and the Ca'di Dio in Venice

The dream of Rome

One of the most fashionable districts of Rome is Trastevere. With its narrow streets and medieval houses, it is "typically Italian". Between art workshops, fancy boutiques, bars and restaurants, the joie de vivre booms here, very close to the historic city centre of Rome. So it's no surprise that one of Rome's most unusual hotels is also located in Trastevere. The fairytale Donna Camilla Savelli nestles in a former convent from the 17th century. The unique charm of the historic building, designed by the famous architect Francesco Borromini, has been carefully preserved. A church, a dreamlike monastery garden as well as antique furniture and oil paintings are still the heart of the hotel. Historical beauty goes hand in hand with contemporary hotel comfort. From the terrace of the Donna Camilla Savelli, hotel guests enjoy the view over the rooftops of the city. The various room types - from the Classic Room to the Premiere Suite - all inspire with their elegant - in part still historic - furnishings. Exposed wood-beamed ceilings, noble stucco work and many other special features characterise the special ambience of this hotel.
