Louis Vuitton opens first luxury hotel on the Champs-Élysées

Probably the most iconic avenue in Paris will be enriched by a spectacular hotel in 2026.

January 15, 2024

The rumor mill has been running hot ever since 2022, when it was announced that the French luxury brand Louis Vuitton would soon make its debut in the hospitality scene. For a while, the plan was to convert the brand's headquarters on Rue du Pont-Neuf in the second arrondissement of Paris into a gigantic boutique and hotel (we reported). Now, however, the fashion house seems to be singing a different tune...

First Louis Vuitton hotel planned for 2026

As the cult brand has now revealed on X (formerly Twitter), the conversion work for the monumental new project is already underway. Contrary to previous expectations, however, a historic building on the Champs-Élysées has been chosen for the project. Built in 1896 in the Art Nouveau style, it first housed the Elysée Palace hotel and most recently the headquarters of HSBC Bank. Come 2026, a glamorous new boutique and the world's first Louis Vuitton hotel will be housed within the historic walls. Further details remain strictly under wraps, and the process of the construction work has also been concealed from the public in the most spectacular way: the iconic fashion house had the façade covered with an oversized, mirrored replica of one of its unmistakable trunks – monogram included, of course.

The new project will cover a total area of 6,000 square meters. According to industry experts, the fashion house will pay annual rental costs of a whopping 60 million euros for the use of the building. No wonder the world is waiting with bated breath to see how spectacular Louis Vuitton's new hotel at 103-111 Avenue des Champs-Élysées will be when it opens its doors in a few years' time.
