As the saying goes: ''Some matches are made in (chocolate) heaven". Because when Maxime Frédéric, the celebrated head pastry chef at Cheval Blanc Paris, the iconic Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and the luxury fashion label Louis Vuitton come together, they can only produce great things. And it was about time that Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton Chocolaterie ventured beyond the borders of France.

From a café to Louis Vuitton chocolaterie

The collaboration between the pastry chef and the fashion label began in 2022 and was a complete success right from the start. The debut was marked by the opening of the Louis Vuitton Café and a Chocolaterie in the French capital. This was followed by a winter detour of the chocolate shop to Courchevel - in the form of a pop-up store. Now, they are venturing into warmer climes and the next stop is Singapore.

Anyone who is plagued by a sweet tooth at the Marina Bay Sands can now take a seat at the curved oak bar and let their gaze wander. Your eyes might linger on the legendary trunks, stacked into works of art, or you might spot the small delicacies that have already won numerous awards.

Craftsmanship and carefully selected ingredients

This is no coincidence. After all, Maxime Frédéric relies exclusively on the best ingredients due to his origins. As the grandson of a dairy farmer, he not only breeds chickens, but also grows particularly intense-tasting hazelnuts on his farm. And, of course, they naturally find their way into his delicious creations as well as the milk from friendly farms and the finest cocoa beans from small farmers in Peru, Vietnam, Madagascar and the Dominican Republic.

The production of pralines requires a lot of know-how and, of course, craftsmanship. In this respect, making the sweet specialties is similar to making Louis Vuitton luggage: "We started to see a lot of similarities between our work in the patisserie and the work of the craftsmen in Asnières, be it a woodworker or a locksmith for the suitcases. It's all about craftsmanship, and that's completely in line with our work as artisan patissiers, bakers and chocolatiers," explains Frédéric.

Chocolate specialties inspired by the brand's iconic codes were created. One of them bears the name Vivienne on Malle. It's inspired by the Vivienne Music Box and is also functional! If you set it in motion with the chocolate key, Vivienne performs a pirouette on the chest. There are also the chessboard-shaped Monogram Flower bars, chocolate bars and filled drink bars.
