26 February 2021

The luxury resorts The Ozen Collection on the Maldives are pleased to welcome a new member. In a world of turquoise vistas, world-class service and effortless perfection, there are now two women at the helm. They are making a statement and bringing to life the refined elegance of The Ozen Collection brand. General managers Maria Luisa Lalli and Henar Gil Rios bring a breath of fresh air to the properties Ozen Reserve Bolifushi and Ozen Life Maadhoo.

Equal opportunities

The dynamics in the hotel industry have changed significantly in recent years. There are more and more women in management positions. The Ozen Collection stands for equal opportunities and gender diversity and has placed the reins of its two resorts in the hands of two female managers.

The recently opened luxury island resort Ozen Reserve Bolifushi is managed by Maria Luisa Lalli. Luisa is no stranger to the Maldives. She is an Italian hotelier with over eleven years of experience in destinations such as the Maldives, UK and Sri Lanka. Her natural and empathetic manner makes every guest feel ease. A special connection is created that makes the guest want to return to the Maldives again. Luisa leads by example and inspires every colleague to create authentic experiences for guests through outstanding service and warm spirit.

Henar Gil Rios, who has just been appointed General Manager of Ozen Life Maadhoo, also brings many years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry. Henar hails from Spain and is a citizen of the world in spirit. She has lived and worked in the US, France, Asia and Mexico. Henar is motivated and excels especially under pressure. With initiative, in-depth knowledge and a lot of creativity, she leads her team to success.

"As the hospitality industry is all about people, I believe it can contribute a lot to equal opportunities in the workplace. At Ozen, we want to usher in a new leadership culture - one where equal opportunity is ensured. Diversity is not only nature's order, but also brings new perspectives to our work culture. Appointing women in key positions should be the norm rather than the exception," says industry visionary and CEO of the two luxury resorts, Salil Panigrahi.
